Is the Maverick the best car I've ever owned? Look, I've had cars that were faster, bigger, and even a few that had ladies giving me a second look. But those cars were like a hot date that expects you to pay for everything and leaves you with a huge bill and midnight frustration.

The Maverick, on the other hand, is like the sensible partner you marry. It gets over 45 miles per gallon, so it's not draining your bank account. It's got room in the back to haul all my junk, so it's always ready to help you move. And it has all the little luxuries you want—heated seats, a nice sound system—without any of the unnecessary nonsense that just breaks.

So, yeah, when you look at it that way, the Maverick is the best car ever. It might not be a Ferrari, but at least it won't leave you stranded on the side of the road with an empty wallet and a broken heart.

Best value was a fully loaded AWD 2004 Pontiac Vibe. Lemon buyback vehicle that came through auction. 2K miles paid 30% under MSRP full factory warranty included. 100K+ miles later still going strong.
It's an early hybrid prototype. Dual wings on the back. A tailwind on those sails adds at least a 5MPG bump. :D

Wouldn't want a Ferrari anyhow, too much trouble.

The Mav is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Age 68 here. Never owned a “big deal” car. Blue collar Detroit all the way. Now own a ‘25 Hybrid AWD (even though I think AWD is way overrated- even in Michigan) with the A Plan (for everyone-not a Ford Employee here) and had a ‘24 Hybrid that I waited 18 months for and got the $3400 Ford deal. Between the MPG, the ride (came from an Escape) and the utility for me no vehicle comes close.

'24 LXT owner here. Had a '16 Colorado, but, honestly, don't miss the bed size or tow capacity, the Mav will tow anything I used to tow with the Colorado, which wasn't much, but the Mav fits better in my garage, it's more fun to drive and , well of course, the mpg. Yeah, if lasts as long as my 2004 ford focus (210 K) it will officially be the best vehicle I've ever owned

A little early to tell but i will always feel my 03 F150 156k miles gave me 21 years of very reliable driving, it never left me stranded, easy to fix minor wear and tear issues. Paid $15k when it was 2years old had 2 doors extended cab with decent bench backseat room. Took me on some awesome adventures. Ive only owned my Mav for 1 year and paid $26k for 2 year old truck. Yes was ripped off but it was the going price around here after the covid new vehicle drought. Except for 3 batteries and once stuck in park it hasnt given me any other problems and suits my needs perfectly. Which is to say i dont really need a truck but have always driven one after my first 66 Mustang and said i will never drive anything but a truck. When the Mavericks were so hard to find i thought i would have to settle for a SUV (gag) but lucky for me the SUV i went to look at had been sold the day before and My Mav had just came in as a trade in that day. I like to think it was Fate as i had been semi looking for 2 years. Fingers crossed she is as reliable but i am highly skeptical

too soon for me to have an opinion, but I've had several vehicles in my 50 years of driving.

All the Toyota pickups lived up to their reputation, but I also had a few cars that defied their reputation; a '74 Fiat 128 that was bulletproof, no matter what my teenage driving did, including just heading off through the forest with no roads, and running it out of oil, it would not die. And I also owned several vintage Corvairs, and a T1n '03 Sprinter, which also defied reliability reputations.
I'm still sceptical of Fords, given my experience with our logging company's many issues with the company trucks, even when brand new. My Transit(not Connect) has exceeded my expectations of Ford, hopefully the Maverick will also hold together.

In the 4 or so months/8000 miles I've had the Maverick, it has had zero issues, but that's EXPECTED for any vehicle in the first 50-60k miles, if not the first 100k.

Same age, my friend. I am still VERY happy with my 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid with the LUX, spray-in bed liner, Ford hard roll-up tonneau cover. I have friends ask if I regret anything. I wish I had push-to-start and I would kind of like the larger screen, but I would t trade my Maverick for anything!

My 24 Maverick Hybrid was the first new vehicle I personally ever purchased but I've had some other vehicles that either got better gas mileage or had a lot more bells and whistles. This is the second Ford Hybrid we have had, the first was a 2014 Fusion Hybrid - which is why I wanted to make sure I had a Hybrid. That one got 47 MPG and was a great car until an unlicensed and uninsured driver decided to drive up on it and total it out with only 1 payment to go. 😭 The safety from that accident was the reason I wanted another Ford. I really wish they would bring back the Fusion! Best MPG was a 1983 Honda Accord that looked like crap but got 50+ MPG and I drove that thing everywhere.

I think the odds will be loaded in favor of the Lariat I'm getting next week. But a point of comparison will be my old Chrysler Town and Country Limited AWD, which was very nice to drive for a couple of years. I bought it "too late" to do much about the rust that had set in, I should have held out for a better one but was impressed by lowish miles, and had to inspect it in winter freezing rain, so missed that the rockers were bodged/patched. However it was horrible for city gas mileage, I got as bad as 15/16 for short tripping it in winter. On the open road though, I could coax it to 28 highway or 30 if I took the faster backroads. (Double nickel vs 65)

So 25 Lariat hybrid is bound to win unless it gets rustier quicker or drops to 20mpg
I hate the Lariat simply because of the pretend leather seat, and the nasty color of them. I got an XLT and added everything that I wanted. Yes, I am missing out on some preferred accessories, but I don’t have baby-poop colored fake leather seats!

it’s entirely up to you. I hope that you love the Maverick that you bought.

The fake leather is over the top. I never would have thought anyone would have the guts to market synthetic/vinyl/artificial/cheapie materials and upsell them as something premium and desirable. But here we are.

And, that was the main reason I selected the XLT. I love some of the Lariat features, but I wouldn’t buy it because of the pleather

It's funny because I would have expected vinyl seats in the XL since it is work trim. LOL

Without a doubt best value !

Ordered it in October 2021 ,
$19,995 base .
Shipping .
XLT.
Moonroof.
Velocity Blue .
No dealer markup (Lithia ,Fresno )

Took a year for delivery , in the meantime I sold my low mileage , basic , bland , Nissan Frontier to CarMax for $1600 MORE than I paid for it new , 57 months prior .

Upon delivery I saw some minor scratches in the bed , got the SIBL no charge .

Also got the ZERO percent Ford financing . Put my cash into E-bonds instead .

Averag 39 mpg since new .

Still original 12v battery .

No repairs , just the reprogramming recalls .

What's not to love !

The Maverick is probably the most versatile vehicle I have owned. Being a car/suv/truck in one and doing most of what I will need very economically.
