Curious why it is called space white, isn't space black? Unless they are referring to the light from stars or UFO's.

Space White if you are delivering auto parts or a bug exterminator, otherwise Desert Sand.
That's why I always avoided Oxford White but Space White is very different, it's kind of like Cactus Gray but on the blueish side.

Sure wish this thread started with a poll.
It would have made it very easier to track results.🤷‍♂️

(x) Space White Metallic

( ) Desert Sand "Terrain"

For 17 years I owned a Chrysler Town & Country LXi minivan in Pearl White Metallic Tri-Coat.
In the sun it had gold tones to it.
In the sun Space White metallic looks grayish.

I was guessing something like: The color they make a sci-fi astronaut suit, so that it looks reflective enough not to fry the dude in the sun, but ain't gonna overexpose the scene on film.....

Maybe moondust sounded too hippie.

Hard choice as both colors have their advantages, I think I'd go with the desert sand as there are so many white vehicles in parking lots it may get lost in the crowd. I chose Area 51 for my Maverick and love the color and is a bit easier to spot, my Cyber Orange Mach E is very easy to spot as it just pops in sunlight and still stands out under street lights.
Cyber Orange would have been my choice if it was available in the Maverick for something that pops. I love that color.

Just think of Oxford White as city camo... LOL

If you can, best is to try and see both in person. Next to each other if possible.

The first Maverick I ordered was Desert Sand. Had a real bad experience at delivery in regard to my trade, so I walked. Went straight to another dealer and order one in Space White. My personal preference of the two is the Space White. Like how it changes in the light/shade, and I get questions about it.

The bad dealer ended up really working in my favor. Besides the color, employee pricing was in effect when the second one came in (by a day). My trade, I ended up going through Carvana and got a lot more than I would have from the dealer. The second dealer couldn't match it (even with taxes accounted for) and without "saying so" told me to go where I would get the best deal. I also added a sunroof to my order, which I really like.

Anyone decide between the two? I’m about to go to the dealership and this is my last little decision. I have to figure out what color to get.

They're both handsome, but the sand one has always come across to me as baby poop color

I too was going between these two colors but could not decide based solely on pictures. Both are quite nice in person but gave me different vibes.

Desert Sand I felt would be great in sunny, sandy “deserty” places like Arizona or California or off road. Look at the photos from members and brochures- and you can see why the marketing shows it on Tremors. In the city or less sunny areas (I’m in the Seattle area) it doesn’t look as nice and my wife and others felt it could get “dated” in an environment like where we lived, or at least it doesn’t stand out. Some people called it beige, or light gold, but it’s really not, it is its own color and quite nice, especially in the right environment.

Space White is nice in that it has a gray and blue undertones. In bright sunlight it is metallic white. In the shade it has a bluish/gray undertone. In shadows, overcast days or at night it it’s like a very, very, light shiny metallic gray. My wife did not like Space White when looking at the rendered pictures and adamantly insisted that we not order it but once she saw it in person she liked it the best. It works well in both deserty and non-deserty places.

We actually went to see both colors again in different lighting conditions and our impressions stayed the same. Funny thing is that I originally wanted to order Space White, wife said she really didn’t like the color based on the Ford site, we then ordered Desert Sand, then changed to Azure Blue, then Carbonized Gray (because we still couldn’t decide), then went back and forth between Desert Sand and Space White after finally being able to see both in person but Space White quickly won out.

I don't remember what they called Cyber orange on the Maverick but it was last available on the 23 model year but I think it was nearly $700 upcharge and would have further delayed my order. I love how it changes basic colors depending on how it is lit but under full sunlight it just pops.

I got talked into Space White, didn't like it online etc.

Yep, seeing it in person shows it properly - it has depth (not a flat/matte type finish color) and it has a charm that simply doesn't translate well online.

Now that I've had it a couple weeks, I L<3VE the SWM - absolutely cool color.

That is absolutely the most important thing, you love it, thats what matters. Congratulations and may your Maverick be as good to you as mine has been to me.

Went into the dealership and saw both cars and really liked Space White. Didn’t think I would at first but here I am.

XL with 360 and 2k tow at $30,735
XLT with 360 and lux at $34,230

pre tax pre fees. These check out or should I keep looking?
