The Mav is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Age 68 here. Never owned a “big deal” car. Blue collar Detroit all the way. Now own a ‘25 Hybrid AWD (even though I think AWD is way overrated- even in Michigan) with the A Plan (for everyone-not a Ford Employee here) and had a ‘24 Hybrid that I waited 18 months for and got the $3400 Ford deal. Between the MPG, the ride (came from an Escape) and the utility for me no vehicle comes close.

I think the odds will be loaded in favor of the Lariat I'm getting next week. But a point of comparison will be my old Chrysler Town and Country Limited AWD, which was very nice to drive for a couple of years. I bought it "too late" to do much about the rust that had set in, I should have held out for a better one but was impressed by lowish miles, and had to inspect it in winter freezing rain, so missed that the rockers were bodged/patched. However it was horrible for city gas mileage, I got as bad as 15/16 for short tripping it in winter. On the open road though, I could coax it to 28 highway or 30 if I took the faster backroads. (Double nickel vs 65)

So 25 Lariat hybrid is bound to win unless it gets rustier quicker or drops to 20mpg

I've only had my truck for a couple of months, but I do enjoy it more than my last car-- a 2016 base model Porsche Cayman (lots of fun, always wanted a Porsche, but ultimately not my "forever car"). TBD on whether the Mav will beat out the 2007 Mazda CX-7 I had for a decade, or my 1998 VW Golf. But I can't imagine the Mav will ever beat out the 2002 Mazda Protege I had-- God, did I love that car, the pinnacle of Mazda's "zoom zoom" era, tossable stick-shift compact.

The irony is I still vividly remember how nice the soft-touch rubberized dash and suede-like interior was on the Protege-- twenty-five years old, $25K inflation adjusted today, and it's interior was *still* light years better than my Mav. Which is a bit of a bummer, but alas, the value comes elsewhere in my great little truck.

Actually, that's what made 2nd and 3rd gen Ford Escorts so good, same platform. I had a wagon that I variously treated like a Subaru Forester, a Miata and an F150. I was looking for a Protege wagon to replace it, since they went later but didn't manage to find a good one.

I've had some nice fun cars to drive, including a Miata, a Mini Cooper, even a '67 Mustang Fastback, but for an all around vehicle nothing has served me better than my 2022 Maverick hybrid!
I can put 4 adults and 4 golf bags in the back and over 41 mpg. Who can ask for more than that 🙂
I've put over 72000 miles on it. I love the extra get up and go I get with the combination electric and ice from the stop light or onto the freeway. It's surprisingly smooth and quiet. I'm so impressed I've ordered a 2025 AWD hybrid and I'm waiting again. Took me 6 months the 1st time, and I'm hoping it's quicker this time.

Best Vehicle:
Hard to determine 'best' for a vehicle, different people have different opinions on what's important.
As for as vehicle quality, its on the lower end since I've had Hondas and Toyotas.

Best Value:
Yes the Mav is up there for sure.
When I bought it in 2023, it was one of cheapest hybrid vehicle on the market.
(still feels inflated as hell compared to before, but it doesn't make sense to compare pricing to the past, gotta compare against other cars for the year.)

Just passed the 1 month anniversary owing the Maverick. I think it is too early to say if it is the best I have ever owned. Possibly at the 1 year mark I can make that sort of declaration. So far I like it a lot. Very versatile, and exceeding my expectations on several fronts. I assumed it would be an econo box type experience, but surprisingly I don't get that vibe from it at all. So far 2 thumbs up.

It was almost as cheap as my 1998 Ford Ranger. Lol. Build quality not as good as new Honda and Used Toyota"s I have owned. After fullsized Trucks priced themselves outta range glad to have something with a bed and under 30K.

Too soon for me to say 'best ever". I need 10 years of ownership. But after 7 months I am really happy with it. I have owned my propane burning Transit for 10.5 years and driven it 117,000 miles and it has been almost 100% trouble free. Replaced the tires, wiper blades, rear brakes, and had the front end aligned, and just a month ago had my first real "problem". Heater and AC blower motor went out. Last propane fill up was $2.04-gallon, business account discount, and I have a card lock card so I can fill up 24/7/365, I am saving about 10 cents a mile vs. gasoline, it varies with price swings. So, my Maverick will have to go the distance to take the crown. And my wife thinks the MTC must be a Titty Bar as much time as I spend here. :like:✌
