That's amazing and you're out in Kansas? I am not native to the area, I moved up here with my family when my parents retired and left NYC, I have lived up here 20 years now. My mothers side of the family hail from Western Pennsylvania though.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t know I needed this until I bought a 2025 Mazda MX5 Miata.

You really miss these features when you drive a car that doesn't have them, that's for sure.

I also have one for sale if anyone wants it (I decided to go frameless but its way more expensive) and I'm trying to break even on this one ($80 shipped). I have a wiring harness made up and labeled and included... It's homelink v5, which is the latest version of homelink, no compass.

I fried the first mirror trying to get the correct pinout and had to buy a new one so avoid my mistake.

Just so you know, that guy sells just the wiring harness on its own, if that might help you.

Yeah, I already learned the hard way and got it figured out, all the ones I saw one eBay were too expensive and I couldn't find any clear explanation of what wire is what online, since gentex doesn't used regular red/black for power. Had to sacrifice one mirror to the wire gods to make another work. Such is life.

Thats harsh man, I did manage to find videos on YouTube showing what each wire does if I wanted to hard wire it without the harness. If it wasn't for this harness, I would have just bought the mirror to an A/V shop, showed them the video and paid them to deal with the headaches.

I was already nauseous enough prying off the plastic panels and notching one for the wire to pass through, no way was I going to start splicing into the wires of a truck I just bought.

I'm glad I did mine back when the guy on here was making the harnesses. Harness was $40 and found a mirror for $20. Best investment I made in the truck.

Glad my post could help! It took me 2 hours because I kept referencing the video, got heart palpitations when it came time to pop off the plastic panels/notch the black panel for the wire and then the adventure I had trying to calibrate the compass on the mirror. It was still worth the effort and I am glad I didn't need to pay a shop to do the work.

Yeah, I saw the old post, those were impressive deals. TBH, if it was a dealer installed accessory, I would have paid a lot more than what I paid to have the feature added.

Yeah, and it's totally worth it once its done. I don't have a garage so I don't use the home link at all, but it's nice to have if I ever do. It also just looks nicer compared to the stock one, especially on a Lariat.

Has anyone found a switched 12v power wire that’s not used for the camera? There seems to be conflicting information about a purple wire.

Yeah, and it's totally worth it once its done. I don't have a garage so I don't use the home link at all, but it's nice to have if I ever do. It also just looks nicer compared to the stock one, especially on a Lariat.

After driving the Maverick a couple of times at night now, I couldn't appreciate the feature more. I even like the compass as when I use the Android Auto/Google Maps on the screen, I lose the compass on my cluster screen. However, I am kinda wishing after driving the car at night, the Homelink/Garage Door Opener buttons were textured or backlite so I could find them easier in the dark.

A minor nuisance that I will probably get used to in time.
