I just got this from Ford Service. Sensor is bad. They said it will be ready tomorrow. When you look at it the cost is $200 to fix if it was out of warranty but mine is brand new. Tom Wood ford has a great system that gives you total visibility. I have never seen this with other Indiana Ford dealers .

Thanks for the picture. Just for reference, I have a 2022 XLT hybrid. It has almost 44,000 miles. It's had the exhaust system replaced to fix the EGR problem. A couple of months ago I started to get the P0402 check engine light. It would come on and go off and then come on again. Corwin Ford finally came out and did the recall that updates the computer and I asked about the code. The technician said that the software update would take care of several codes that were being thrown.
Indeed for 2 or 3 weeks my CEL indeed seemed to go away. However it has come back again. I'm going to have to try and make a service appointment. (Not exactly easy here at Corwin Ford ). It looks like I'm going to have to have the sensor replaced as well .

I have had this message and amber MIL intermittently for about a year? 22 hybrid mav with just over 23500 miles. Local ford dealer checks it when they do my recalls but never have a solution.
it doesn’t seem to affect the drive at all but it’s kind of irritating that it keeps coming on. Any helpful thoughts appreciated.

Interesting! I took it to the dealer and within 2 days they said they needed a part. replaced the part and I was on my way and no issues. above in this post I posted photos of what they replaced.

IIRC, there is a TSB or Cust. Satisfaction Program bulletin that addresses this exact issue. Have your clueless dealer check.

Same exact issue here and same circumstance from the dealer. All software updates have been applied. My Fordpass App is full of messages for it dating pretty much back to when I got the truck. It's getting old. I can tell it doesn't have as much power when it's throwing the code. Still drivable, it just feels mouse.

This is what I replaced. It is on the drivers side of the engine block and this view is looking from the passengers side looking towards the drivers side. It's been a couple of years ago and have not had any problem with it since. By the way, not close to any "orange" high voltage lines. But be careful!
