25 Hybrid Races Lobo surprising results!

Have you guys seen this video? FAST LANE TRUCK on YouTube took a 25 hybrid 191hp and a 25 Lobo 250hp and had some fun with surprising results.
I had both 22 FX4 Lux 4ktow eco and now own a 25 Lariat Awd 4ktow Hybrid, I thought the Eco was a little faster than the Hybrid, not that it matters to me the Hybrid has more than enough power, in my 55 years driving I have had and driven some very fast cars and trucks that pin you to the seat, not anymore am retired and just want to get to the grocery store and park to walk the dog. I still keep up with the car industry and never had any experience with Hybrids, there all new to me being retired for over 8 years from the industry.
These guys did a couple different tests with a Lobo and a Hybrid, and the Lobo DID NOT BLOW THE DOORS OFF THE HYBRID in fact it was close, very close.

I haven't sat through the video, but the Lobo's performance enhancements relate to handling, not acceleration. Ford added no power to the standard EcoBoost engine for the Lobo, which should tell you something. A road course is where the Lobo should shine.

I agree, but for the average guy, me included, just like the Lobo as a street vehicle and will never do a Road Course, just wants a cool looking truck that can beat granddads Hybrid. I not knocking the Lobo I wanted one, just didn't want to wait AGAIN, the Lariat I bought was in stock and waited 2 days vs 5/6 months.

I test drove the Mavbrid before I purchased my Ecoboost.
The Hybrid felt like it had the same power, torque and acceleration of my 2021 Bronco Sport base model with the 3 cylinder dragon turbo with its 191 hp. Not slow but no where near the steady hard acceleration of my Eco Lariat.
FWIW I did several launches from a dead stop and full throttle roll outs from 30 mph and 60 mph.
I know nothing about the lobo but the Hybrid was not near as powerful as my 2024 Ecoboost.
Night and day difference. My turbo gets down hard at 3,000 rpm.
The 2.0 truly does feel like the V-8’s of the seventies.

Go on attack me with data and numbers but I stand by my seat of the pants opinion.

The thing I like about the hybrid is the low end grunt of the electric motor, it never gets old. Couldn't care less about quarter mile times, etc. To me that stuff falls in the category of cheap thrills. Instant torque off the line is a lot more important to me than continued acceleration after you've reached the speed limit. Unless you don't mind speeding tickets and higher insurance rates, were are you going to use high-end acceleration and torque?

I'm in the foothills of the southern Appalachians in far upstate SC. Understand what you're saying about long stretches up mountains, like the Saluda Grade that I go up fairly often. I can see where the EcoBoost would shine in those situations, especially if you're pulling a trailer or have a big load. I don't do much of either so the hybrid is just fine for me in those situations. I'm sure if I were younger I would have been more tempted by the EcoBoost.

No attack just a comment, I liked my 22 eco had no problems except recalls and radio, what worries me most is all these small engines [not just ford] that need turbo boost to get ya going, it puts a lot of stress on that small short block, I know we seen 100k Mavericks just don't think we're going to see many over 150/200 that don't need engine repairs or replacement. I hope am wrong. Btw anyone driving that 3cly eco I strongly recommend you wear a flak jacket when your motor get over 100k if it makes it.

I had a BS BB with the 1.5 Eco Boost 3 cylinder and had the Pedal Max on it for improved Throttle Response man what a difference. The throttle response was better than on my 2025 Maverick with the 2.0 EB but the power and torque of the 2.0 EB is awesome compared to the 1.5 EB 3 cylinder.
