Hello MTC Nation: did you buy a completely base/no options $20k 2022 XL Hybrid? If so, how has the value been for you? I would do it again. Or not a good decision.

Your vehicle is the ultimate Mav value story. Loading them up trim level and options takes away the value proposition. Great decision and good to hear it’s holding up.Like THIS WAS, I only added the trailer hitch. My was base a total of $20,095.00. No financing-cash out the door after a trade in. (Dealer added things I didn't authorize to make some money but that's a different thread!)
For me its been great. The best feature for me is the fuel savings. Best run was 550 miles on 1 tank. It was all local driving-errands etc. That is why I purchased it.
I expected recalls, issues etc on a first year production vehicle, so the recalls and Customer Satisfaction campaigns so far have been minor for me.
Bottom line: Value wise: best 20K I have ever spent. And yes, I would do it again.
In New Hampshire-- tell the kids you CAN buy a $1.50 coke for a $1.50. No bottle deposit, No Sales Tax, No income tax.. Live Free or Die...I don't know why it's so hard for folks to understand. You could buy a Ford Maverick for $19,995. That's not what you're going to end up paying. It's like trying to explain to little kids wanting buying $1.50 soft drinks in a Glass bottle. Once tax and a bottle deposit is added they aren't going to walk out of the store with the drink by giving the clerk a $1.50.
Negotiations aside.
Glen, you don't buy something without paying for it. They are one in the same. The destination charge was unavoidable from Ford. The Mavericks sitting on the lot - with their total purchase price - started at $21,490. MSRP = $21,490. That is what you paid and bought it for plus any of the tax, title, doc fees - those ancillary fees.I don't know why it's so hard for folks to understand. You could buy a Ford Maverick for $19,995. In 1970 you could buy the original Maverick for $1,995 Yes that that is what you bought it for. That's NOT what you were going to pay for it.
There are ancillary fees attached to almost any product you buy. Transportation charge, sales tax, registration..etc

FWIW, it is not a conventional CVT - it is an eCVT. A very different animal from a CVT. No belts, no pulleys. And with 2/3 less moving parts, will likely far outlast the conventional transaxle in an ecoboost. Toyota has been proving that in the Prius, since 1997....I did not like the CVT that comes with the Hybrid.
Happened to me too. I told myself I was getting the $20k version with ONLY a $100 trailer hitch, even had color picked out, black. When came time to order I ended up with 2023 XLT BAP LUX and paid extra for Alto Blue! so much for $20kThat's what initially peaked my interest.
