I've recently hardwired my dash cam into fuse #3 which, from what I could find, should be switched. However, returning to the truck nearly 90 minutes later, I found the display still be on.

Did I do something wrong, or does it just take a really long time for accessories to be cut? I'm a little confused.

When my Maverick was new, my dash cam would also stay on for about 90 minutes after shutting off the engine. If you don't drive the truck enough, the accessories won't stay on as long. If the battery is near the low side (close to the Deep Sleep), the accessories immediately turn off at the same time as the engine.

What is the preferred fuse to tap for a dash cam?

If you double lock the truck the time delay off is advanced to a couple of seconds. You can also double lock with key fob after walking away from truck using the delay off courtesy lights if you want. Then lights, radio, screen, etc will all turn off!!!

I did try that and unless I did it wrong it does not terminate accessory power, unfortunately.

I don't know if Forscan is working for the 2025 trucks yet. But if it is, you can use it to change the default accessories timeout. Even though I verified that my dashcam had stayed on for 90 minutes, the default time was set at 75 minutes. I changed mine to 30 minutes to test the setting. It worked.

I used fuse 3 for ACC power and fuse 18/19 for constant power for my Garmin dash cam.

Yeah, that doesn't work on mine either.

Oops, yes the cigarette style power port does stay on as well as the jump ports. May have to put fuze tap in key off circuit if power for camera is too much for canbus then use relay in circuit to switch camera on/off. Whichever fuze handles say the courtesy lights. Someone posted that fuses in the passenger floor box some are switched some more not. I don't know.

Is this the value you're referring to?

Yes, that's it. Is that your default time? 2700 seconds is 45 minutes. Mine was 4500 seconds (75 minutes).

It was set to 2700 by default, yes. However, wouldn't that mean it would have cut power after 45 minutes? When I had checked whether the camera was still getting power, over 90 minutes had gone by.

I've changed the value to 300 seconds and checked 15 minutes later. It was still powered.

Surely I'm missing something here.

It appears for most of the Mavs, you'll get the default 90 min of key-off accessory time only when the truck and 12v battery is relatively new. As the miles and time on the 12v battery accumulate, the key-off accessory time will decrease and eventuality, you'll get regular key-off, accessories immediately off condition. I, like others, tapped a "constant powered" fuse under the hood to keep the lighter socket hot 24/7, so we could charge BT headsets, or whatever.

My default time was 75 minutes but my dash cam stayed on for 90 minutes. Now that I've set for 30 minutes, it does shut off after 30 minutes from my testing. But that's only when the battery is full (usually only if I put it on a trickle charger overnight).
