It is nice having the data to back up the claims. I am interested to see what the Top Tier Plus is going to do to help. My issue is I prefer ethanol free Top Tier and that is harder to come by.Its very well known that PEA helps out - techronn gas and others have it in small amounts. Most bottled fuel additives have it in large amounts.
It can if you have the newer injection system with both port and direct.Fuel additives can't clean the valves on a direct-injected motor so that part would only apply to hybrids
Wondering if something like Seafoam would do the trick?Fuel additives can't clean the valves on a direct-injected motor so that part would only apply to hybrids
Sadly most of the cleaners out there that I have seen tested really haven't done the trick very well with caked up intake valves in GDI engines. The best method is likely a walnut hull blast to get the valves cleaned up.Wondering if something like Seafoam would do the trick?
The trick would have to involve adding in another fuel rail with port injectors! Having to pay $500 to have the intake valves of a 3.2 Audi v6 walnut blasted was my welcome to a high mileage GDI engine. I have not owned another since, but that was also when I learned PEA and top tier fuel are not snake oil.Sadly most of the cleaners out there that I have seen tested really haven't done the trick very well with caked up intake valves in GDI engines. Sadly we have a lot of people stuck with GDI engines that the OEMs didn't see fit to correct the design to address the intake problems they created. It is pretty sad that OEMs are still dragging their feet on correcting this. The trick would have to involve adding in another fuel rail with port injectors! Luckily more manufacturers have been going to a dual GDI / port system, even though the intake problems don't usually start until well after the warranty.Sadly we have a lot of people stuck with GDI engines that the OEMs didn't see fit to correct the design to address the intake problems they created. Hasn't that proven to be false info? The new 2.0t is still direct injection-only IIRCIt can if you have the newer injection system with both port and direct.![]()
What is PEA ? Chemical name please.
I searched and folks talk about it but I didn't find what it is.
I also saw someone refer to "it" as PAO ??
The MY25 Ecoboost in the Maverick absolutely has both direct and port injection. It is not "false info;" it is well-documented around this site.Hasn't that proven to be false info? The new 2.0t is still direct injection-only IIRC
The name of the chemical was on the first page of Google results when I looked for "PEA fuel additive..."What is PEA ? Chemical name please.
