The vehicle is a 2022 Ford Maverick Ecoboost, manufacture date 4/22 with just over 23K on the odometer.
A few days ago, I noticed that I had some water in my passenger side footwell. I had just washed the truck, so I was worried that I had somehow sprayed water into the ac intake and that's where it was coming from. I pulled the cabin air filter, and other than a couple pieces of leaves, it looked fine. No water, not even damp. I gently sprayed some water along the windshield cowl again today, and didn't see anything leaking when I was looking up from inside the dash.
The past couple days, I've been seeing a drip coming from what appears to be a seam on what I'm guessing is the evaporator housing. I've included pictures to try and show what I'm talking about. I can also hear a "sloshing" sound coming from the passenger side when I make left turns. I don't see any water actually coming from the vents. I know that people have had issues with the windshield cowl, but mine appears to be fastened all the way across the windshield. Is it possible the piece under the cowl is the problem? Or is it possible I'm looking at a clogged evap drain? And the last possibility, could I have oversprayed water into the intake for the ac?
When dripping, the water seems to be coming from the seam visible in this picture. View from passenger side
Shot from driver side. Water seems to run into this guard then drip out.
I've also included a short video of the drip taken from the passenger's side.
I have an appointment scheduled, but figured I would get some input in case it's something I could take care of myself, or at the very least I'll have more info to share with the technician.
