I don't own one, but the Maverick Tremor is high on my list of vehicles to consider.
If I do buy the Tremor, it will be later in the year.

Anyone care to speculate on what the 2026 Maverick Tremor will bring?
Any significant changes? I did read a rumor that Ford will be making a
Maverick Tremor hybrid for 2026. But that's just a rumor and nothing more.

For the model year following a refresh I wouldn't expect many notable changes. The usual new exterior color or two, and for 100% certainty - a price increase. And to be consistent, at least a couple of new recalls.

Thanks for your opinion.

Last year I gifted my 2003 Tacoma to my nephew, and bought a 2025 Rav4 hybrid.
The Rav4 gets great fuel economy, but I sure miss having a small truck. I think the
Maverick Tremor would be a good recreational vehicle for camping and exploring
mountain and desert roads. And for me, having a truck bed is more handy than
an SUV.

I would be a financial stretch for me to buy a Tremor now. So I'll wait until the 2026
model is introduced. But of course it will be higher priced.

The real boon would probably be if they bring back an XLT-based Tremor. But maybe Ford dropped it on the basis there weren't many takers at that trim level.

Like @Milous mentioned, I wouldn't expect much change at all for the 2026 Tremor.

Personally, I'd like to see the 4K tow package finally become an option on the Tremor, but I'm highly doubtful that will happen.

At the rate Ford has been going its all about cost cutting. They will probably change the color options (i.e. add one color delete another one) and most likely they will take more cost cutting measures. Example, Ford "tweaked" the Raptor. For the 2024 Raptor to 2025 Raptor change over after the facelift, they deleted interior buttons, removed "Raptor only" things - like now the running boards say Ford instead of Raptor, same with the key fob. I truly doubt much will change after a facelift year.

As a former 2023 Tremor owner - I loved it but it felt like a compromised truck to me. A tool not made to do one job well but can do many jobs adequately - so I traded for a 2025 Lariat Hybrid 4K tow.

There will be minimal to no changes to the Tremor for 2026 in my opinion. Ford has resisted the idea of bringing sasquatch to anything but Bronco or Bronco sport and there won't be Maverick Raptor.

The Tremor might get similar metal bumper inserts a la the BSS

Remember that Ford is dealing with the impacts of tariffs. My guess is, if anything, they'll try to figure out how to remove content and features without us noticing. I don't know that. I just do simple logic...

  • Customers want inexpensive Mavericks.
  • Mavericks are built in Mexico.
  • Mexico is subject to tariffs.
  • Remove cost by removing content.
  • See if customers still buy
OTOH, the logic could be...

  • We keep raising the prices on Maverick
  • Customers keep buying
  • So keep raising prices

Sort of tangential here. One thing I suspect Ford is up to is building an even more inexpensive entry level truck. Then pushing the Maverick up, and pushing the Ranger up, and pushing the F150 up. This is a classic OEM strategy. Today's Ranger is the F150 from a few decades ago. Today's Civic is the Accord from a few decades ago. And so on.

Remember the CEO has said multiple times that Ford is targeting new product that drives costs down to meet the market. I would not be surprised to see the Ford equivalent of the Slate. They've said it out loud. They've said it again and again, in forums where they have a legal fiduciary responsibility not to mislead investors.
