I rarely open mine, but like the additional light, especially in the dark PNW winters. Whether it was worth $1000 on a 33k vehicle...eeeehhhh.

I came over from an 2020 Escape Titanium that also had a sunroof. However on the Escape the roof panel went out over the roof, not internal like on the Mav. Much quieter than the Escape. Pop the roof and it is a bit noisy as highway speeds, fully open it is quieter than popping it open. If you try to talk on the phone when open, the person you are talking to do hear wind noise. Have had to close when on the phone... lol

my first edition came with a moonroof and I did not want it strongly enough that ordered a second truck without it. I don't drive enough at low speeds to enjoy a moonroof/sunroof much, most of my miles are 70-85 on highways.

you lose headroom. probably not a big deal unless you're very tall (>6'5" I would say) unless you're doing HPDE, autocross, rallycross and have a helmet on. when you add a ff helmet to the mix, you don't have to be that overly tall before the reduced interior ceiling height becomes an issue.

it will eventually creak and leak. how quickly this happens depends on how often you park outside.

and the biggest reason... it's a grand.

I found that I rarely used the sunroof. And, since I keep it parked outside, the sunroof drains started clogging up after a few years, requiring using a length of strimmer wire or getting them blown out during service call.

My hearing is poor, but I can tell you, I would rather have the sunroof open with my sliding rear window than a side window. Great ventilation and you can adjust it with the opening amount of the slider. Little to no turbulence and less use of A/C needed.
Couldn't agree more! I had a 22 XLT with manual slider and no sunroof. It was nice to open the slider and crack a window to circulate air, but it was noisy. Ordered a 24 Lariat with sunroof and with the power slider I can vent the sunroof and use the slider to regulate air flow with little to no noise.

I will admit if you are someone who likes to highway drive with the sunroof opened (not just vented) it is pretty noisy and without cracking windows the cab flutter/drone can be annoying.

I personally love my 24 with sunroof way more than the 22 without. My truck stays in my garage, so I don't worry much about clogged drains or water leaks.

I got one for my wife, as I rarely use one, but it is pretty quite. I can listen to audio books with it open, which is not easy on my RAV4. I don't experience the wind buffering when it's open, either. It will require keeping debris out of the drain tubes to prevent leaking.

It is all personal reference. Had a sunroof in most of my cars in the past and barely used them. Just too noisy at faster speeds plus don't want to deal with another possible issue - not matter if it a possible leak or operational issues. So nor more sunroofs for me. Would definitely save a $ 1000.00

I plan to factory order today. Unsure about sunroof. I like them UNLESS they create significant cabin noise when in use. If so… I’ll save $1000.

thanks for advise
I factory ordered my MY25 Lariat in August and decided to save the $1000+. My primary reason was that with my previous vehicle, I never used the sunroof, so why order it on the new vehicle.

Not worth $ plus most people don't use. That's why these days they are often an option even on the higher trim levels.

Yes, it's only forced on the Lobo 702A / high package. Everything else it's a $995 option.

It's pretty annoying that it's included in the Lobo 702A, because if you were to actually drive a Maverick hard on sticky tires you really don't want a flexy A pillar / roof. Luckily, the Lobo 402A / mid package does not include the moonroof.
