Check into a camera (rear view and backup) being attached to rear as wireless or the Jayco being prepared. We have one primarily when towing.
Have you tried the hands-free backup with the trailer?

Have you consider SUVs w 5k towing capabilities? As for living out of a trailer for a year one option is the low profile Trailmanor. When opened they have much more livable space than other popups. The TM 2518 might be ideal as the weight starts at just under 3k. I've towed a TM 272O w my...
Isn't that trailer 3700 lbs+ and a hitch weight over 400 lbs? Have you taken it to a CAT scale to verify weights all the way around? What brand/model weight distribution hitch are you using?
Always terminate your subscriptions such as sirius, newspapers etc a week or so before they are to renew. They almost always come back with a very good rate, and not their normal high rates they try to hook you on at renewal time. Make sure to calender it and if possible cancel automatic...
Right now we are not but planning to get an Anderson Hitch type system. We've read great things about them. It seems to be 50/50 to use a system on these low profile trailers. Ours towed great.
We brought it back to AZ 1,000 miles plus from TX via I-10 & 17. Lots of crosswinds the first day but no concerns 18 - 19 mpg. 2nd day limited winds and averaged about 22 mpg from Tucson to Sedona.
We have to watch weight but they make a 2518 that is 200 - 300 lbs lighter. About the same amount...
That is pushing it. Also since it is likely a high profile trailer you should review the Ford online towing guidance for each of their tow vehicles. I have towed a vehicle of similar length and weight but it is a low-profile Trailermanor 2720. Tows at 20ft and stores in the garage at 18 ft. They...
We plan to get an Anderson WD hitch although it handled well with winds on I-10 in TX and NM. We'll feel safer once installed. I have the standard 4K package from Ford on my Maverick.
Of all the research I did it seems there are limited to no issues. TM have the front and backs extend out w the use of a torsion bar lift mechanism springs. Thr torsion bar system has a lifetime warranty.
See thecwebsite w a visual of how it opens up plus the FAQ has more info on their...
We'll not tow w water. We do have to be careful w how we pack. They make a 2518 model that is well under 3000 lbs.
We almost had a deal for that model but they would not match another dealers price on the 2720. We first tried to find a newer used model but not much out their.
It's a hard-sided popup. One picture is of it in the travel position and the others of it in It's open position.
Weight is just over 3,000 lbs.
Closed height just under 7ft
Open height at about 9ft, standing room at 6'4"

We live in Sedona so it was a good climb from the Phoenix area. These TMs have been around since the early 2000s but low produ tion #s. Because of their design there is lots of room. The 2720 tows at 20', garages at 18' (half hitch) and when open it is 24+ ft internal. Trailmanor.com
The Phoenix dealer wouldn't come close to match price on their 2025 2518 unit (smaller) w less add ons. We gave them a chance but w a 2026 model that had just arrived in TX and lots of add ons the price was more than worth the time and drive.
This trailer stows in garage, 20 feet towing, 18 ft...
