Trucks in the shop, Dealer "unable to save module settings"; Could this somehow be ForScan's fault?

It goes away immediately already if ALL the belts are buckled. Someone told me to try this and it works. Buckle the rear seat belts. Then as soon as the occupied front seat is buckled it goes away.
I repeat I would NEVER use a software developed in Russia to connect to my vehicle.
Yes, if you buckle all 3 rear belts, you should get the same affect; because the code change is for the rear seats.
I understand concern about the software. I had the same concerns, when I first used it back in 2011 on a Mustang.

Got my truck back from the dealer and it ended up that the saving problem was a red herring and the ultimate problem was a corroded and failed wire harness. Hoping that's not a sign of the future given my truck has 2k miles on it ... But at least it wasn't forscan and I didn't have to pay for it.

Definitely wish they had just given us a nice standard manual e-brake where you pull the lever. This electronic E brake is a pain.

I'm glad it was an easy (ish) fix!

I prefer the manual lever pull parking brake too. Unfortunately it's one of those 'Wish in one hand..........' situations. It isn't coming back.

Yea, it was an upgrade that just didn't need to happen. It's like the one thing on the vehicle that should be a "There's no way for this to fail" type function. On when I want and off when I don't; period. A computer doesn't need to help me.

Oh well ... at least I got 12 days into my 30 days lemon law period just in case that route is needed.

Can you advise where the issue was with the harness? I'm waiting on a rear ABS harness for mine now. This doesn't bode well.

Cheers.

I had the same thought ... but yea, I didn't pay enough attention to what they called it in normal-people words, but the work order says "connector c105". "Inspected connector and found water intrusion and corrosion on pins 18,19,and 20".

Maybe smarter people than I can figure out what harness connector c105 is part of. Later on they stated connector c120 and harnesses "14290 and 14305", too. Maybe that helps?

Appreciate it. Might be good for future reference, but hopefully not.

Cheers.

From time to time people post their work orders that will show a reference similar to the c105 connector. Loose or rusty pin not allowing a proper sensor reading or whatever. Some hybrids suffered from a bad connection on the positive battery cable at the end under the hood. Some vins had a wire missing in the trailer harness.

I'm trying to keep abreast of any wiring/electrical issues. Fear it might be the Mav's Achilles heel. Didn't have the neg. battery cable issue with mine, but had the cable replaced under the customer satisfaction initiative. Will post the resolution to my current wheel speed sensor issue when resolved.

On the up side, while ordering the wheel harness the service scheduler at my dealership mentioned the Maverick hasn't been a problem child for major issues (touch wood). She's pretty candid, and mentioned Escapes and Explorers suffering major issues (rear ends, transmissions) at low mileages.

Cheers.

I wonder why something like FORSCAN couldn't have been developed in the US instead of Russia?
Because most countries in the Middle East and Russia, etc... don't have right to repair laws so they have to develop their own workarounds. Same stuff I deal with working for a German brand dealership and customers who are shipping things over to Eastern Europe and whatnot.
