Thank you for posting this. Just curious if you also got a notice in the Ford pass app or just this letter in the mail?

How many dealers will just inspect and not replace when they make a good profit on battery replacement???? I received my notice a few days ago and will be surprised if the battery is not replaced. If not replaced and it then goes bad, it would just add to Ford's deteriorating image on recalls. Also if it goes bad and leads to injury/death, the liability for Ford would be very sizeable, IMHO.

Are you able to turn off the “stop/start” feature on a permanent basis or do disable it each time to start the engine? If you were able to turn it off permanently I would appreciate if you could let me know.

My Maverick hybrid was an early built truck. It's over 3 years old, and I can't remember the last time it wasn't in sleep mode! The dealer said the battery tested OK, and doesn't need replacement. The good news is it always starts, and I learned to live with it being dark in the truck, until I push the start botton, and all the lights turn on. I can go on a 50 mile trip each way, but it still goes into sleep mode, maybe a AGM battery would solve tis problem?

The wording in that recall indicates it applies only to EB models. My FordPass app shows no incomplete recalls, and just the long block and seat belt CS items. I get the sleep mode periodically and found that putting my battery on a charger helps quite a bit. I've also had a pretty good experience over the years with an older version of this digital HFT battery analyzer. I periodically test all our vehicle batteries and track their performance as a ratio of measured-to-rated CCA. If you collect data through the battery's lifetime, the curve shows pretty clearly what the future holds. When it drops below 80% you should start thinking about a new battery, and if it gets to 60% you're about to get stuck at the grocery store. I think you'd really like a new H4 AGM battery, although Ford didn't make it all that easy to R&R. If you do, don't forget to reset the BMS.
I believe Ford is supposed to issue a recall fix for people like us in 2025-Q2. Hoping...

Yes it would.
Plenty of threads on that subject since this is about EB only recall.
