Wheel and Tire Advice

We have a 2025 Lariat on order. It’ll be used as our everyday driver and primary ski car in the PNW. I plan on switching to 17” wheels and Michelin Cross Climate tires. I’m not sure though what to do with the take offs, trade the tires to my shop and sell the wheels or sell both together. They’ll be brand new. What’s a fair price for wheels and tires together? Wheels alone? Thanks!

Also in the PNW and I have some take-off Lariat wheels/tires from my 2025, non-BAP. I listed them for $1200 but I expect I'd have to drop them below $1000 to move them. I may just hold onto them if I decide to trade or sell the truck in the future.

One thing to note about the 2025 is that the TPMS is not backwards compatible with the 22-24 which is your most likely target audience.

CC2 is a good choice as I put those on my ex-wife's Audi Q3. I considered those before going with Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT.

Great combo! I much prefer the AT look, but I have a rubicon and an overland truck already, so I’m going with the least impact on mileage while getting good snow performance.

Same, same. I have a 2025 Mav in Space White. Purchased 17” Cross Climate 2’s on RTX Black Widow rims for the ride and to avoid curb rash on the 19” rims. Tire and wheel package from Tire Rack. Will be looking to sell the original Lariat 19” wheels and tires (212 miles).

I wanted to sell my wheels and get into some 17" but just decided to slap Wildpeak AT Trails on (235, XL load). MPGs took a 10-15% hit easy.

If you ever want to sell the car, would be good to have the original wheels. You can also use them for summer tires. Maybe some performance tires or AT summer. Also, you'll always have the option to switch back. I like the 17" XLT wheels too but I wouldn't part with Lariat wheels. My XL winter wheels are rusting already so they are the ones most owners should part with. Steels are good for snow though.

There are multiple sets with or without tires that have sold in the Classified section over the last ~year that should help gauge value...

BTW, I bought a set of almost new XL wheels/tires for $200. I mounted Blizzak snow tires for the winter and they work great. I swap them out for free at Discount Tire every winter.

I just kept mine because the TPMS sensor is different than 22-24.
