Am looking at one of these as a possibility. Room inside for my gear & the dogs. Bed is small but could probably live with it.

Can you turn off the lights? Run with them OFF completely - as going in at 4AM duck hunting?

Any way to remove the center divider so there is more room in the front & one isn't cramped in?

If I get one I'll take a hit in fuel mileage over my current pickup but it is a diesel so might work out close in fuel cost. Best so far with mine is just over 750 miles on the 15 gallon tank. Don't see the hybrid doing quite that but it doesn't look too bad.

Does anyone make a crank window option that can be installed? Also, any way to get the back windows all the way down?

On tires, looking at taller for a bit more ground clearance. Will get a second set of rims for the Studded snow tires & change with the seasons. Taller tires are a big help - so what works?

When I get a flat/have to replace a t ire do these require some kind of calibration or do I have to get a whole new set? Friends newer vehicle shredded a tire & he had to buy a whole new set - something about calibration and damnable computer stuff.

How reliable is the little TV screen in cold weather - as in 40 below temps? On the opposite end how well does it work in hot - over 100-115 outside with in vehicle parked temps at 150 and more? Does it quit like the cell phones I have tried?

I see the truck has some advantages but - is it a high theft vehicle now? Insurance rates higher than one might think?

As I wrote, considering one. No firm decision yet, gathering information. Much less expensive to keep the older small diesel overall but this one with more interior room is looking nice. The cost sure seems to keep going up in the ads I have been looking at.

Thanks in advance.

Lights off? Not really.

Center console removable? No.

Crank window? Lol no.

Back window down? No.

Taller tires? Check the tires sub forum and the search engine.

Replace tire? Depends on remaining tread on other remaining tires. They have TPMS sensors so a tire shop can handle that easily.

Forty below to 115F? This vehicle is not for space travel. The high number should be fine though. Forty below? Check with Ford customer service.

It is not a high theft vehicle.

With FORScan, you can enable Police Mode and disable all the exterior lights, etc. You can also disable DRLs in the trucks existing settings menus, w/o FORScan program.

No manual window options. All 4 windows roll all the way down.

WRT mileage, my hilly trips to town & running the air usually net about 50mpg. In winter that drops to upper 30s, because running the heater in non-highway driving requires the gas engine to run. A lot. A/C hit to MPG is negligible.

I've never had the Infotainment screen not work, in temps from -8° to +101° F. If your mobile phone quits in the heat, it's probably the chipset overheating inside the cramped phone case - not the screen.

The center console is not removable, but does not take up much room. Have you even driven one?

He's talking about the back windows all way down...plural...back windows. NOT the "back" window. Remember when certain cars would only allow the back windows to roll about half way down for safety reasons? I believe that's what he's asking. So...YES...the back windows do roll all the way down already.

In North Dakota all the cars on base pretty much stayed parked when it got down to 37 below for two weeks.
But not really because of the temp.
It was because when wind chills hold at and well below minus 85 F people stay inside. Orders.

We all had block heaters and battery warmers. If a car didn’t have a battery warmer we’d take them out and stash them inside the dorm’s basement.
Had a nice row of car and motorcycle batteries all on trickle chargers.

I use mine for hunting all the time. I’m almost positive I have been able to turn off the lights while hunting at night. All the windows do indeed roll down fully.
I’ll double check but I do remember driving with them off.
Mine has had zero issues in the cold. In fact if you have a diesel now. My maverick has worked in temps the diesel struggles to start in.
As for tires yes I have bigger ones. Cooper rugged trek. They work great.
Little truck handles the snow much better than most everything on the road.

Hunting at night from your Mavrick,
I assume way back in the woods. Hunting at night from road right away’s is poaching. I’ve known guys that lost their guns doing that.
What critter lets you drive up and shoot it?
Ever see one of those bated deer fields where farmers tame em down so city boyz can get their jollies off killing something. They walk right up to the blind looking for a treat.
Ted Nugent just might shoot the so called hunter for that.

First it’s not technically hunting. It pest control for pigs.
Pigs have poor hearing and poor eyesight. Hunting them at night is not illegal either is hunting from private roads on a ranch.

Basically drive around and scan for them. When spotted you can stop and stalk.

That's quite the temperature range.

I park outside in Northwestern Wisconsin -- and the truck starts and runs fine at negative forty. We go a few weeks in winter where the temperature stays bellow zero, and negative forty isn't uncommon.

That said, you'll find the truck goes into deep sleep a lot in those conditions because the 12 volt is pretty weak -- so maybe invest in a battery tender if you're worried about it (I just drive the truck every day in the winter so it starts fine -- but even then, I get the deep sleep notifications pretty regularly in February).

I recommend getting real remote start and not relying on the app in those conditions.

Not that any of that matters. One can use the maverick for hunting. I do. I mainly use it to get to a certain area as quickly and quite as possible. That means no lights. Slide in and start walking. Sometimes you hunt places that need to have a lot of ground covered. Think of spot and stalk. But the stalks are very long and spotted from a truck

IMO, keep what you've got or find yourself an older Jeep or International Harvester Scout. All newer vehicles are electronics overkill and make all kinds of clicking and other weird noises all the time, i i assume connecting with the mothership. You don't want that in a hunting environment. just my opinion
