I was hauling a load of building materials north on the NY Thruway the other day, I pulled onto the shoulder to adjust a glass entry door in the 4x7 Uhaul trailer. I was getting back into the Maverick and beginning to close the door when a semi truck roared past, literally ripping the door handle out of my grasp, as it slams against the stops.. Now there's a slight resistance to closing the door, increased road noise and about 2-3mm of the door not aligning with the B pillar. Bringing it to the body shop on Monday, after they looked it over yesterday. Anybody know what this will look like....$$ wise? 1...more....second, door would've been closed, pretty sure the semi truck did not move over into the left lane like the law says here in NY, had to be going 75 too, I was as far off the shoulder that I could've parked.
I wished we didn't have to share roads with these trucks, I constantly see them trying to pass other trucks on uphills, holding up traffic- ALL THE TIME.
