My older Newfoundland needs help getting into the back seat of my 2025 XLT. The car ramps and stairs we already have are too wide for the side doors. Does anyone have ideas or recommendations? She wants to go for a ride so badly!!

Thank you,

Anne

I don't know if this will be helpful or not. I have a 13 year old GSP with the same or similar issues. He gets car sick but I still have to get him to the vets. So I looked around the pole barn and I had a broad head target that I don't use any more. It fits perfectly under the rocker and makes a step to enter and exit. I just throw it in the bed under the tonneau cover. Any way it worked until I picked him up after surgery he was still droggy and I had to help him. Anyhow just thought I would share what I ended up using or utilizing. Best of luck, hope you find something that works for your pup.

Have you ever purchased from Amazon?

There's literally hundreds to choose from.

If your pooch is used to a ramp, buy one that fits the opening or have fun and build one.
A 2 x 4, x 8 for under support, a piece of ply for the deck, and a 1 x 2 for "steps" so the dog gets a grip, and you'll have a 4 foot long ramp that will be an easy climb.

A couple of ascending sized cushions could work well too, if a single step as noted in post #2 would be too much..

My Yellow Lab would stand by the back door, look up at me with those big brown eyes, and wait for me to pick him up. I miss him every day.

I don't have that problem at this time, but will again in the future. My black Lab would put her front paws in the floorboard of my F-150 and turn around an look at me and wait for me to help her. She went on trips with me for almost 15 years, and I miss her, too! There is not enough room for that in the Maverick.

I have one like that in my garage that my old girl used to get in the back of my Escape. Worked well.

I miss her too. :(
