Your salesperson can't sell your Mav from under you, due to the fact you have the Vin # from Ford!
You absolutely could be right but I can't imagine that a dealer doesn't have some recourse, at some point, to sell a customer order if they have to store it on their lot for long enough.

If that's the case, then it's just a matter of whether or not 2 weeks crosses that threshold....which doesn't seem too far fetched.

Moving foreword, what is Ford's timeframe from order to delivery?

People placing an order will expect a delivery date that is accurate and not to distant in the future.

Ford's build to order business model will not work if customers never known when their vehicle will be delivered.

My workplace recently placed an order for a Tesla 3 (to run errands and such), and the process to order was simple, and they kept my team informed about the status of the vehicle the entire time - sending regular updates. The scheduling took some time (a few months from what I remember), but once the car was in production, it was quick - a few days I believe, and shipping only took a few days because it only had to go from California to Nevada.

You nailed it! Placing an order and even providing a down payment, and then going for months with ZERO info is just not acceptable! Ford’s communication system has failed miserably. Worse, is the dealers’ role in this. Dealers should have been required to learn and understand how the system works, and should be forced to SHOW Ford that they can perform before engaging in this process. We should not be having to beg them for information, or make constant calls to the Ford help line - which, as some have noted, is staffed by friendly people who can not provide any really useful information about your build - only that you have been recognized, or not, by the system. Dealers should provide reasonable info to buyers as to the general status of their order, and at least some rough estimate as to when they might expect production/delivery. This also implies that the dealerships should be forthcoming in revealing their “secretive” allocation schemes, and where we, as customers fit into them. My salesperson has been very friendly, but I have had to flog her for any real info about my purchase, and have been continually put off by the claim that "you WILL get your vehicle.’’ This puts my courteous dealership right back into the “sleazy-and-I-don’t-trust-them” category. They are still keeping customers as ignorant as possible in order to retain control. They may be just as in the dark as their customers during this supply apocalypse, but that doesn’t excuse them from remaining in contact with customers who are making 5-figure purchases from them.

I don't disagree with you but I am gonna get comfy while waiting for the angry fan bois to come in an berate you for being frustrated while accusing you of "expecting an Amazon experience" when in reality, most of us would be more than happy with a UPS or FedEx experience. What we have is much closer to a USPS experience although even USPS can at least confirm when something was shipped, lol.

So, I know it has been talked about somewhere and I can't seem to find it. For those of you with stickers, I'm trying to decipher the bottom of some stickers to see what the information means. I know there are build dates, blend dates, etc. but....... Any direction or help would be wonderful.

I'll second this, Ford reps have always been exceptionally nice, in my experience. They've never been able to provide me with any information I didn't already have but the experience was pleasant!
Same here it was a pleasant conversation but not much help on giving me information on my hybrid build date or priority code

It could be a chip issue but given how many examples I've seen of poor craftsmanship coming out of these builds, I'm still leaning towards a quasi-recall because they screwed something up relatively major.

Now, I ALSO wouldn't be surprised if I got a call from my salesperson tomorrow saying it had shown up on the lot with no warning because Ford's tracking is borderline useless. Since I have to leave town tomorrow for a couple weeks, I'm now praying that it doesn't show up until early December because I wouldn't put it past my salesperson to sell it out from underneath me if I can't come pick it up right away. I know they'd stand to get more off the lot than they will with my X Plan purchase.

Definitely not been the kind of experience so far that makes me wanna rush out to order from Ford for my next vehicle. Now, I also kinda wish the hybrid had appealed to me, at least all of those customers had a huge heads up that they would be waiting for an undetermined amount of time for their builds.
When in doubt get a Purchase Agreement from them and sleep better at night

I just got off the phone with the Ford and got a little more info on the timing once you get your "In Production" email. I have seen many versions of the timing from multiple posts that vary substantially, so I figured I would post the version I got right from the factory. I was told that it "typically" takes about a week and a half, (versus the couple of days stated in the email) to build once it goes into production. Now here's the catch. If your vehicle is chosen for a QC check, that can easily add another week and a half to that time. It will then show as "Built" and then ship. Depending on where you live, the USA shipping time will be anywhere from 15 to 30 days IF you don't get stuck at a rail station waiting for an auto transport truck. So if all goes as planned (which as we all know, is rare) you should have your truck 4 to 6 weeks after it hits the "In Production" stage. Hope this helps and clears things up for those that still have questions that you have not been able to get a straight answer on. As an FYI, I ordered on 8/16 and had an original production week of 11/15 which moved to 11/22, but then I hit "In Production" status on 11/13. So the time after ordering through hitting production is the real variable.

Edit: I should also have mentioned that all this info is based on the EcoBoost engine. Hybrids could be a completely different story.

Good info, but I wish the communication was a little better for all involved. If ordering vehicles is the wave of the future, I really hope companies can improve on communication. My Maverick has been "in production" since 10/22. It'll be 4 weeks tomorrow. I have not received a "built" or "shipped" email yet. The modules have been on, and I have a link to "activate my vehicle" in my Ford Pass app. Everything points to my truck being ready, but I have no idea what's going on. It's probably a good thing we didn't/don't pay for this upfront.
I got my "shipped" email last Friday with a possible delivery of the first week in May. Mine is an XL Hybrid with the Copilot360 added. No other real options were added other than that. I ordered mine on July 19, 2021.
