I just checked, and the truck has its own wifi and I'm connected to it automatically when get in. The network is PROJa0aeab and I can see the password. Wonder, since the hotspot expires in one year, who pays for this wifi and for how long.
My Samsung Android phone does the exact same thing. If the truck is on, the phones Wi-Fi will keep turning on no matter how many times you turn it off. It Kills the battery life of a phone. I assume we would need to turn off Android Auto to turn off the phones Wi-Fi. 😀

It's crazy. Before I saw your post I thought I was the only one dealing with a ghost. I'm guessing it's because of Android Auto. If you figure it before I do keep me posted:facepalm:

Uninstall Android Auto from your phone. Should fix your issue.

Its doing what it should. But if you don't like it connecting then that is a way to verify. You can reinstall it anytime. If you like it.

I connected my phone to the sound system using a USB cord this morning before starting the truck and the wifi did not connect automatically so that's an option.

The truck CAN have it's own WiFi hotspot - which you said you disabled. Perhaps not really.

The truck also will connect via BT and WiFi for the AndroidAuto. This is likely what you are seeing.

Anyone else using AndroidAuto can confirm that network you say you are connected to - as I doubt it would change.

The wifi for androidauto isn't going anywhere except phone to truck, truck to phone.
Nothing to pay for, since that is NOT the hotspot wifi going out thru AT&T cell network.

Yup, I don't mind all that, just my phone heats up a bit, is my concern after all.

I think not just from wifi, probably connected to android auto and stuff, not sure why.
First off thank you for replying.
I asked because, I had a tablet that went through what I call nuclear battery meltdown. I was in the middle of some things battery was running down so I plugged it in and continued using it.
I got the warnings on the screen of battery overheat. After that point anytime I turned it on, it would still run but it would get very hot and use battery very quickly.
I was wondering if it was an older phone?

That's a good point!!!! I believe that the OP said they have an Samsung S25. Fairly new phone. I have an old Note 10 That I use and it never heats up when using WiFi and Bluetooth on the wifemates 24 Edge with Sync4 Wireless Android Auto (Same as the 25 Maverick). But I do know Samsungs have had bad batteries in the last year or so.
