Okay, I'm sure this is probably been mentioned in another thread, but here's what I got. Just got a 2025 Ford Maverick, XLT, Hybrid a month or so ago and just a few minor complaints. I mean a few obvious, "Why is that $1 plastic cover missing when I now have to to pay $11 to get one on Amazon?" kinds of things. (Like the cover under the tailgate specifically.) Yeah, I get it's Ford saving money here and there. So after a few weeks of buying seemingly random things, I really enjoy it!

Here's two minor things that bother me.

1: The windshield wipers. I can't just pull them away from the windshield if I need to wash the windshield or (later) change out the blades. Yeah, the wipers are deeper under the hood, but still.

2: A bigger thing and it's water related. It doesn't rain in SoCal often, but sometimes it does a lot (has in the past month). When I open the rear doors, on either driver's or passenger's side, unless I quickly open the door---a flood of water that's been hiding in the seal floods the inside of the back. It doesn't do this on the front doors, just the rear doors.

For the last part, like I said, it doesn't rain much, but when it does I'm probably trying to put something in the back that I'm trying to keep dry. And the doors don't help.

Anyway, love my "velocity blue" Maverick! Do kind of wish Ford hadn't reused a model name though: "I just got a Ford Maverick!" "Oh yeah, my dad had one back in the day." "No, not the one you're thinking of."

For the wipers, when the truck is off you can grab the whole arm and swing it upward, then fold it out away from the windshield. They're not like wipers of old which were all locked up by the linkage when they were off.

Welcome to the Velocity Blue club!!

I wouldn’t do that honestly. There are metal teeth where the wiper bolts on and they work in conjunction with the clamping force of the nut to keep the wiper aligned through the sweep. Generally there isn’t enough clamping and gripping forces to move the entire motor assembly and linkage and instead you can strip the heads of the arms and wind up with a loose wiper over time. Unless you’ve gotten lucky and doing what you said moves both wipers simultaneously like that, I’d be impressed.

The correct procedure for maintaining your wiper blades is to key on the vehicle and engage the wipers and key off the vehicle when they reach their vertical most position.

This has been mentioned here before, but I don't think a solution was found. There must be an issue with how the seal is installed, because I've had mine in several torrential downpours here lately, and this just doesn't happen.

I was not aware of the opening at the bottom of the tailgate. That is something I will investigate. I have had my 2024 Larait 5 days. Day 2 I ordered inserts for the console storage. Why did Ford think I need a storage are deep enough to hold a gallon of milk? I got the Atlas Blue metallic but love the Velocity blue also even though I love red trucks the blue was more appealing on the Maverick to me. Do you have or know what the loose wired connector in the glovebox is for? I have yet to find anything in the manual but I haven't read every page.
The extra cable is for the FITS connector in at the back at the tailgate. There is a black plastic block at either side with a connector attached on the backside, giving you 12V power in the bed. I 3D-printed a new cover at the local library with a hole for a cigarette plug and run christmas lights and stuff off it.

All those things you mentioned, plus:

Does it bother anyone else the way the driver's side air vents are positioned? When I have my hands at 9 and 3 on the steering wheel, the air vents cool my hands instead of my face. Redirecting the vent lever doesn't help.

I have the same issue with my 25 Lariat and the rear doors. Living in the PNW, lots of rain so it happens often. Otherwise, love my Maverick.

I've had mine since January. Yesterday driving smoothly on city streets, I pulled 59mpg!

👇👇Important addition to the above. ☝☝
Make darn sure you put the wipers back against the windshield before doing anything with the ignition.
Yes I realize it seems like common sense. Bad things have happened for those who have not properly replace their wipers against the windshield, before starting their truck.

I had the rear door shower happen to me yesteday, odd it was a light rain. Opened rear door, water was in that little rubber gasket, and ended up on the rear seat, and rear floot mat.

Wait until you discover the plastic funnel for putting gas in the tank from a jerry can. Usually behind the back seat (that is also fun to lower) or it may be stowed under the rear seat cushion.
I would recommend getting the cover for the hole at the bottom inside of the tailgate. If something gets in there, it won't come out. So the day you are carrying a bag of dirt and it breaks, or heaven forbid, some loose gravel, you will wish you had installed it.

Correct, you can do the ignition route too.

Maverick wipers are free-moving when the truck is off. Focus and Escape are the same way. I know Ford put a TSB out a few years back about how to service the wipers, mentioning to not sweep them manually, but I think they did this just so that people would stop chipping the paint off the back edge of their windshield and coming to them to get it fixed.

Just make sure to sweep them back down to their original spot after swapping blades. When turning the truck and wipers on after the fact, they self-align to their park position. Did this for years on my Focus ST and was never an issue.

Weird must be a new thing it definitely did not do that on a 2023 rental

Interesting. Maybe they started putting a lockout on the 2023+ Mavs.

It's kind of convenient because when I'm washing the truck, I can scoot the arms up a couple of inches to get below with the mitt, then just scoot them back down when I move to the next spot.

I’m not sure about a lockout it’s just a traditional single motor and linkage not individual stepper motors like a Focus ST Which is what had me confused on your post.
