Currently have a maverick xlt and it’s been great. Looking at trading for a 2024 or maybe a 2025. Pricing seems similar. One hold up on the 2025 is the grill which I don’t love but could live with. The bigger thought is I tuned my 23 and would want to tune the 2025 but it doesn’t seem like anything is available. Timeline seems to unknown which is creating the doubt. I hour the 23 to lower and tune and would want to do the same with the next.
Opinions welcome on the 2024 vs 2025

Not sure why you would trade a '23 XLT for a '24 XLT, not much difference. The '25 will at least get you things like a push button start, Sync 4 and such. IMO it's either a '25 or why bother unless there is something I don't know here.

Well the 23 has 44k on it, so it’s basically the ability to start with a new truck at zero miles. I realize there’s not much difference.

Can’t have a performance tune on the 25 yet which is the main consideration and not sure how long I want to wait for that.

What did the tune get you- HP wise and/or drivability? Evidently you have the 2.0T, why not a piggyback that you can always take with you, then sell? Is the 2025 2.0T different than the 2023 2.0T, that the same tune won’t work?

The 23 with 44,000 on the clock with a performance tune. Is it having problems or did the tune cause indications that it’s time to trade up ?

Personally it wouldn’t make sense going from a 23 to a 24. Same truck. Going to a 25 would make more sense.

Probably 50-60hp and torque more. Way more fun.
2025 is a diff engine, no tunes available yet

No issues at all. It’s great just the opportunity to get a new truck with no miles at no to very minimal $$ difference

Same truck but will no miles and no real financial penalty, just starting over.

don’t love the grill in the 25 but it’s growing on me. No tune for the 2025 yet. No eta on when it will be available

The financial piece seems fishy. Are you saying same payment? If so, you're still stretching the payments 2 more years. Or even up trade? If that's the case, share the name of the dealer who is making even up trades.

not an even trade per se but the equity I have in the 23 as a down payment makes the payment the roughly same. Just starting a new loan and a truck with zero miles. So yes 5 more years of payments.

The 25 is down 12hp on the 24

Still doesn't make sense to me... Get a 25 or wait for the second gen around 2028.

Tune it up?!
My hybrid '24 has plenty of oomph, and the first time I kicked it in the tail to pass, I was plesantly surprised.
IMO if you are not having any problems with your present Mav, why go into another 5 year loan situation?
At 41k miles you probably have most of "the bugs" worked out, and have thousands of dependable miles to come.
Best of luck no matter what you decide.

OP, if you search, you'll find a few dozen threads where people to to war over the 2024 vs 2025. And grab the popcorn, because some of those threads are real soap operas.
