Funny, because you don't even know my generation, just assumed someone that thinks you're a tool has to be younger.
No it is obvious what age group your in. The schools failed you and it shows. This post started as a high tech question and for some of you, its evolved into a exemplification of stupidity.

The fact that you think asking about taping into the rear light circuit is "high tech", shows who the schools failed, and it isn't me.

25 Hybrid with tow package, when towing any size trailer, the lane centering feature doesn't work. I brought it to the dealer, they looked at it for a couple of hours and said everything looked ok and to bring back with a trailer. Until I do, I have to tow the trailer with the light cord tucked in so it looks like it is connected but then dont have any lights (is is flatbed so truck lights visible). I take it on 12 hour drives and really want that feature to work (without disconnecting the light cord). I think when you pay for the safety features they should work, in concert with each other. I don't want to tow a camper cross country and not have the feature I purposely ordered the vehicle with not working. I bet it is "engineered" that way by some desk jockey. Any ideas? I am thinking I have to rewire a new trailer plug and tap off the tail and brake light wires (switched to LED, so the signal/brake circuit has lower amp draw). I will have to experiment with the brake circuit to see if the truck will realize and cancel the lane centering or not, if so then a aftermarket brake controller...what a mess! It will cancel the Lane centering even if trailer is small with not brakes (even set to min sizes or if the no trailer connected button is used).
For safety concerns it is pretty obvious why the lane centering portion of the adaptive cruise control is disabled. Just think about how wind changes the operation of a vehicle when hitting it on the side. Now amplify that sidewise push and make the movements more random and harder to control when towing a trailer.

With me it was make another appointment and come back with the trailer that causes the problem.
Please start listening to the responses. There is no problem with the vehicle, it is by design a safety factor that disables lane centering when towing.

OP will probably just insult your intelligence and call you a weak man who doesn't know how to drive.

You know what they say about arguing with people on the internet...

Yep. I am amazed though at the people who ask questions, and when given correct answers refuse to believe or just change the subject. OP seems to be one of those types.

As I said, but you quote it again for some reason, I have no control what the dealer diagnosis is, wish I did, but I don't.

"Listen to responses", I have and leaned there are people on this forum that don't own a Maverick but like to give advice, also McDonalds can superheat coffee above the boiling point and serve it in a coffee cup, so McDs is bad, but Ford cancelling options is good because the weakest in society can't handle the vehicle while using them, that I have been using this combination for 2 years, but now it will cause me to crash for the first time in my life and I will get suited.

Believe it our not, there are people in society that can make things work and I mistakenly used this forum to connect with smarter then average people. However no mater how much subterfuge you liberal types add in, I still achieved my goal which seems to be the way things are going nowadays.

It must burn you up that some people will be driving their Mavericks and be able to use all its features whenever they deem it to be advantageous, but you are limited by the goals determined by the weakest minds in society today. I really don't know how you can live with that!

Can't be done, is not a correct answer, at least for me. If you read this post and can comprehend technical information, you will be shocked that the information to make it work is there and the world is not going to end.

But at least I am accurate with my appraisals.

Dude, no one brought up politics until you just did. I know for some folks it is hard not to make generalizations about others' political affiliation, but if you had two braincells to rub together you wouldn't be making this assumption.

I'm more annoyed that you flagrantly disregard state laws about trailer lights than anything. Even if you haven't caused a collision yet, does not mean that you won't. People that have such a disregard for others on the road are the worst types of people.

edit: Oh, and also you believe warning labels just don't apply to you because you are somehow superior to every other human on the planet. Just because you havent had an issue yet does not mean there will never be an issue. It simply means in the roulette game of shirking safety you have been lucky so far.

For the record I don't feel I am superior to every human on the planet, just people like you and luck has nothing to do with it. Try hard work and years of experience.

Oh, and don't drink the battery acid...

It is too late to do it now, but out of all the people that participate in the forum, not one with experience has chimed in describing a problem with towing in combination with lane centering. Does that make you think at all?

I say it is too late now to chime in with your "story" because some of us know that after you go out and burn an electric truck in the name of clean air, that you would love to sit back and unwind fabricating a horrific experience caused by using lane centering where your grandma got run over by a reindeer.

You are pure gold. You're exactly what gives conservatives a bad name and an embarrassment.

Your misguided superiority complex is absolutely astounding. At this point, I'm unsure if this is a troll or if you actually believe what you are typing.
