My 2.0 Lariat Luxury sitting in a rail yard.

I ordered a 2.0 Lariat Luxury loaded back in June. Ford took me through the steps and learned it is sitting in a rail yard in my city. It has been there for a week or two. Contacted my dealer and they said they talked to the Ford regional person. They told me it is waiting final inspection by a regional Ford person at the rail yard before they would release it to the dealer. Does that make sense?

Sounds like exactly the same as my Maverick! It's been off the rail car since 11/6...

Man... I remember working for a Ford dealer in the mid 90's and prepping new cars for delivery. The Probes, which were made in Flat Rock, Mi, were coated with a spray to protect them from the fall out in the area (Down River Detroit). It was a NIGHTMARE to remove. I do not miss those days!

I will also add that my original delivery date was 11/15-17 and has since been changed to 11/29.

Same boat. My dealer says he thinks its a recall. Not gonna release them till they have been fixed.

That might actually make sense, if they were somewhere that could fix them.

might also be damage to the interior. many auto racks are full of illegal's trying to get over the border. Seen picture of them searching each car to get them out.

For the past week mine has been sitting in New Orleans, which is pretty far away from my dealer in central Iowa. The only update I get when I trace mine is that interchange was completed four days ago and the railcar is still loaded. I'm becoming more doubtful that it will arrive within the new estimated delivery window. It already missed the original delivery window.

If it says the interchange was delivered that means it switched rail companies so you'll want to check with one of the other rail companies to see if that car number is in their system now. Mine was delivered for interchange in Illinois by Union Pacific on Sunday and now Norfolk Southern has it.

It could be because that rail car was in a train that had a fender bender and the railroad wants certification from the owner or the owners representative that the cargo is not damaged. Possibly time you should be glad you didn't buy it fob elsewhere and elected to pay the $1495 delivery.

Similar situation here. Expected delivery was 11/6 - 11/12. As of yesterday it had gotten moved to 11/21 but I don't have much faith at this point.
Contacted my dealer last week and they stated "it's a quality issue Ford wants to correct". Interesting Ford emails us updates on good news and not on the bad ones.
