Have not been on the Ford web site for a while and was surprised to see this. I know I have an open recall which has no solution at this time (camera), but no idea why they are telling me to take it to a dealer immediately. The boxes below show no alerts? Anybody seen this before or have an idea what's up?

Only thing I can think of is they want the dealer to turn the telemetry back on - it's been disconnected for months
Very good chance that would be the reason for the alert. Ford is dying to sell your trip and phone information to their "partners".

How does one turn off the telemetry?

Yeah, I probably used the wrong term (again). I turned off purposeful communications with Ford by turning off the modem. I did not pull fuse 11 yet. As soon as I turned it off in settings I could no longer see mileage, tire pressure, etc. Ford has been nagging me ever since.

at least you have your truck , we bought a new 2024 xlt hybrid in November last year and still don’t have the truck because of the “ safety” recall. We are making payments on a truck we don’t have and the dealer won’t release it . The dealer we bought from is starting to collect maverick trucks that are brought in for service and gets caught up in the recall crap . To me just disconnect the stupid camera till the fix becomes available, but they won’t do that . We argued about it they won’t take it back because to them it’s used but has never been off the lot except for our test drive , there is even a title yet because they haven’t processed the truck through the system. I grew up with Ford trucks and cars but this crap with this maverick truck is like poop icing on happy memories. We are waiting for this to be done , we liked the truck and design of it just not the crap Ford is doing on this recall…. Just fixed to stupid thing or remove it , I want my truck .

Silly question but what are you looking at to see that (the app? Or online?)

I have something similar on the website, but nothing showing in Fordpass?
"action is required", no clue what that means?

I guess I'm missing out. 😌
I don't receive any Ford electronic alerts or updates.
I turned off Communications in the truck pulled fuse 11/12 also disabled and uninstalled Ford pass from my phone.
(Yes, I know it's never really uninstalled
)
I figure if something important comes up. There enough lights and symbols on the dash to tell me.

But if you do not pull Fuse 11, the TCU is still sending lotsa info to Ford. You just can't see some of it any more. And they collect a lot more than what they actually let you see.

Contact an attorney to pursue lemon law. Make Ford buy it back.

Dave,
Please name the dealership!!
I want to verify the above statement.

In other words if I take my 2023 Maverick in for service and they tell me that it has a recall for the backup camera they cannot absolutely cannot hold it hostage until it's fixed.
I think somebody at the dealership is embellishing on their story for drama.
The dealer - or any other mechanic - has absolutely no authority to hold onto your property for any reason other than nonpayment of the bill. Expired inspection, out of date tags, worn out including recalls, tires/brakes/suspension - anything. They have an ethical duty to report such conditions to you, they even have the right to refuse to work on your car if you decline to have certain work done. But if you decline to allow them to work on your car, it’s still your car. Any attempt to compel you to authorize work under the threat of not getting your car back is extortion.

Now, recall work is performed by the dealer at no cost to the owner of the car. It’s paid by the manufacturer, and is usually to correct a significant defect. It’s in your best interest to let the dealer do the work, but it’s your call as to whether, when and who will do the job.
