I got my job 2 2025 Maverick with Pro Trailer and Pro Hitch Assist!

I don't have a trailer, so I haven't been able to test any of those features yet, but they are installed and they do function when I activate the buttons.

Just a few notes:
1: Don't order through Diamond Ford in Lancaster California. The sales folks are nice enough, but the dealer managers will install $4,000 worth of garbage on the truck before you can take delivery then try to charge you for it. It took a lot of back and forth with them to get them to remove the charges. They added the VIN security stickers ($995), ceramic coating ($995), Door Edge Guard Vinyl Stickers ($995), and R.E.D third brake light flasher ($995). This was all on a CUSTOM ORDER vehicle and they did all of those things without my permission prior to taking delivery.

2: My tailgate cables are slightly different lengths, so if I load up the tailgate in the half position, the right side cable will take all of the weight.

3: The screen is at a very odd angle. I am 6'3" and the screen is pretty far out of my line of sight. The truck has great visibility for a 2025 vehicle(A pillar and B pillar are quite slim), but I wish the screen was higher up and tilted a bit more towards the driver.

4: The Pro-Trailer knob is right where I want the volume knob to be. Since I am tall I can reach the knob just fine, but I could see shorter people struggle to reach the knob. Eventually I will probably get used to the steering wheel controls, but right now there are 20+ buttons on the wheel and that'll take a while to memorize.

5: Overall very happy with the truck so far. I know my driving habits will not allow me to get the 40+ MPG many of you guys are getting, but I will be happy with what I get!

That's just plain Robbery especially since it was a custom order placed by yourself. And they wonder why some dealers get a bad reputation. Congrats on your new truck, I think your really going to like it.

Oh, make sure they gave you the stickers that go on the trailer for the pro trailer functionality.

Sadly this has been an issue since day 1, some trucks just get mismatched cables. In theory you can get the dealership to replace the cables. I recall some members here doing it a few years ago. Mine came this way, after a while the cable just stretched and it wasn't a problem anymore.

Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Maverick. Thanks for posting and the pictures. Also thanks for letting others know about that dealership and your experience. On the cables I'm sure it is covered under warranty but I would be looking for another dealership to handle all of your warranty issues in the future.

My dealer sales rep told me several times that my invoice price is what it is, and gonna be no additional dealer install crap, fingers cross tho. I told him, I be walking out of the deal even $1 is increased.

That sort of dealer nonsense, unrequested accessories, outrageous markups, on a bespoke order is beyond the pale. I am about to take delivery of a similar vehicle here in San Diego, and if my dealer attempts anything like that, things will get ugly real fast.

I have a question about the cables. Are the clips that are supposed to keep the cables attached supposed to be under the shoulders of the bolt or whatever you call it that the cable is attached to? I have had an issue periodically where one of the cables will come off.

I bought my Mav from a small town dealer, in fact, my 3rd purchase from them. Each time, they sold me the car and asked me if I wanted the extended warranty. Not another thing. They know the only way to stay in business is to treat their customers well, or lose them to Memphis dealers 50 miles away.

Ya, that is Crazy, but not uncommon. The local dealer, from which I put $500 down to order a MY 2023. (I lucked out and the next day, located a Mav out of state! :giggle:).
Added what they called: "UPFIT" accessories of $3000 to any order.

....Oh, make sure they gave you the stickers that go on the trailer for the pro trailer functionality.

So the trailer assist is still optical/ sticker based? Our 2019 F-150 has this type of system, and while it usually works well, under some conditions (bright sun at certain angles) the system can't find the sticker even though it's clearly visible on the back up camera screen. When this happens, my wife is unable to continue to park the trailer and has to call in her assistant (me). I never use the trailer assist anyway; to steer the trailer you turn the knob the opposite direction you'd turn the steering wheel, causing me to suffer a wetwear malfunction.

I thought I'd read that newer iterations used a chip (RFID?) in lieu of the sticker to sense the trailer tongue position. Not the case with the Maverick trailer assist?

Could you give the long cable a twist or 2 to shorten it?

I might have to give that a shot!

Yep still sticker based. I got a pack of stickers in the glove box. I don't own a trailer so I'll probably put the stickers on a magnet sheet so I can use them with rental trailers.

Good to know that it might not work in some situations!
