So, what drive mode selection would be best for heavy snow. I have a 2024 XL with tow package. I don't have Snow/Mud mode I have Sport, Slippery, gen, eco, tow haul modes.

I had a foot or better snow amounts to go through did fine in sport but not sure what would be the best for snow.

Lots of people skiing on the snow, so snow is obviously slippery. 🙂 Go with that one.
If you are looking for "best" traction, tires are going to matter more than any mode.

With my AWD and all terrain tires I drive in normal all the time in the snow. Works just fine. The slippery mode just dumbs down throttle and power. I'd rather be in control of the power with my right foot.

That is not all it does. It changes the behavior of the AWD. In normal mode the rear tires are basically not involved except for just taking off. You can accelerate at 40 MPH and the rear tires get no power.
In slippery mode the rear gets power every time you accelerate.
You can overcome the throttle change by stepping on the accelerator a little harder. Mine work just fine that way.

I personally have great experience using "slippery mode" in snow. I have to climb a very steep drive - 175 vertical feet in 1/8th mile or so. The difference is dramatic when going up. In normal mode it's a bit scary as there are micro-traction failures and little slips. In slippery mode it is rock solid every time.

Literally just yesterday I forgot slippery mode as I went up the drive with just a tiny spotty covering of dry snow in very cold weather. There were a few adrenaline moments where I had micro slips. But I didn't want to pause or divert my driving focus to change the mode. Made it up in normal mode, but it gets your attention where there is a micro slip.

Just my personal experience. This is an XLT AWD.

I always just keep mine parked in the garage, the timer too I did have to go out just put it in drive and went. Not a single issues with a stock tires and front wheel drive only in normal mode.

I just use "D" with our awd xlt. Does well with recent heavy snow in Michigan. Curious if it really makes a difference?

I have the Tremor, and I use mud and ruts which locks the wheels, and this worked great in deep snow.
Slippery just hangs you up because of the way it works.
My driveway is sloped as is one of the roads leading to my house.

You can get the snow/Mud Mode with Forscan. I have a 2022 XL and turned it on. You can also turn off the start stop function with Forscan.

D is a transmission gear selection on the knob. He’s talking about drive selector mode, which is the little button further behind it. Have you not found it yet?? It’s changes the way the vehicle drives when it is in “D”

Johnny,
This is incorrect.
My 2024 distributes power equally to all four wheels when in slippery 100% of the time.
My in dash individual wheel power gage verifies this.

In all my other modes it is primarily a front wheel drive set up. It only adds just the power that’s needed to the rear end.
When climbing steep stuff all the modes give half the power to the rear in relation to the front.
