Most new vehicles have remote start with a key fob capability. It is just the dealership has to turn it on and you need the correct key fob. I have seen the key fobs for sale for $300 for two factory ford fobs. Then they need programmed and the computer on the truck needs programmed. Dealerships charge 1-2 hours labor. So close to $500 total price to have factory remote start that works and is covered by warranty. If startx is $100 and works that’s great unless it void’s warranty or if Ford can tell you altered something.
yup, it definitely seems the easiest and cheapest solution

It did. I was able to start it from day 1 using the ford pass mobile app.

But they didn't give you the key fobs that had remote start button on them correct? If so that's odd.

Have you tried deleting your Ford fest app from your phone and reinstalling it, even logging out and then logging back in to see if that fixes the issue?

The Auto start feature on the FOB was split off into a second part of the driver assist package. At the time I was waiting for my truck to be built (ordered Nov 4, 2021 and took delivery of my '23 on Jan 14 2023), this extra feature was considered a "constraint" to getting built along with many other constraints. I opted out of that feature along with a few others to speed up my build. My FOB looks just like the OP's FOB. I rarely auto start my vehicles that have the feature on the FOB anyway, so it was no big deal to me to drop it. Different times back in 2021 - 2023 getting a truck built ;)

Not the same thing as fob start. Even my XL has start-with-app. App system works over the internet, vs the fob method that only works a certain distance from the truck.

All new Fords that have the app have app remote start. But not all new Fords have start-with-fob. A Lariat Maverick should have fob start and it should've come with fobs that go with it.

No there are Lariat’s without remote start FOB. It was considered a somewhat constrained part I remember but I chose not to order it because I did t want to pay the extra cost when I knew I could use the app to start. This is true for the 23 base Lariat that I have anyway.

The way it was explained to me back in February of ‘24, and of course subject to change since then, ALL ford’s have remote start via the app. If you want remote via the key fob, that was extra. In my case as part of the luxury package for my XLT.

Too many key fobs. Weird, my truck is a lariat with autostart (at least through the mobile app). You'd think I would've gotten a key fob too. Maybe they made a mistake and didn't program and give the correct fobs.
So you're 23 lariat didn't come with OEM remote start?

For the first model year 2022 the key fob remote start was part of the XLT & Lariat Luxury packages.
*Then For 2023 models the remote start on the key fob was a $170 stand alone option and it was not included in any packages.
*Then for 2024 models it was included with Lariat trim (which automatically added Lariat Lux items as part of the total Lariat package). For 2024 it was also part of the XLT Lux package.

Based on the order guide for 2025 it looks like it's again standard equipment for the Lariat trim and is included with the XLT Lux package.

So 2023 was the real odd duck year where it was only available as a stand alone option.

OP, I read all of the post but I don't think I saw anyone say this or mention this and maybe you already know. But remote starts through the app or fobs to my knowledge are only good two consecutive times. Then you must start it normally to reset for remote start. Why this is true I have no clue. Hopefully it's that simple.. If I missed it in the other post my apologies.

I had to pay $170 for the remote start. I had to buy the lux pkg. on my 2023 xlt to get the remote start option.
