I don't see the real need to change from the fl-910s that ford spec'd

IMHO, extra oil in the filter serves no purpose. Stay away from Fram, as shown in many online comparisons, and concentrate on change interval. What do you expect to gain from having a cup more of oil sitting in the filter can?

Outdated info.
FRAMs are actually great, especially their mid-high tier offerings.

Please make sure you take bypass pressure into account when considering an alternative filter, it's not just about pleats and surface area. I never hear this mentioned in these discussions

Sticking with Motorcraft brand FL-910S. The size filter recommended by Ford for the Hybrid Maverick.

Yeah, Why oversized?
You plan on leaving your oil in for 10,000 to 15,000 miles ?
I would not with the Turbo Ecoboost. Even though the oil additive packages are designed to last 10 to 15,000 miles.
If any of these Maverick engines have so much particulates that the OEM filter looses performance or raises oil pressure your engine must be disintegrating and it’s too late to worry about a bigger filter.

Only reason I ran with bigger oil filters on my Tacoma was I ran Mobil one and changed it between 10,000 and 15,000 miles due to my work load.
That motor lasted 528,000 miles.
Bet no one reads this last satatement.

So,after all the discussion on larger oil filters which one seems to be the winner!

If you ask a question like this on a forum you are going to get a hundred different answers that are totally unqualified and unsupported by any data whatsoever, other than they heard it from someone else, so that is why they use a particular filter. It’s their Unqualified Opinion and yes, we all have a right to an opinion.

Perhaps you could ask people “Why” they use a particular filter and ask them to share the data they based their decision on.

As mentioned by a previous poster, a slightly larger volume of filter is going to amount to a net zero gain in filtration or longevity of the filter. The Frequency of oil & filter change is much more important. Also; If an engine is hitting against an oil filter bypass valve, it has more serious problems that aren’t going to be resolved by switching brands of filters, don’t you think?

I think that Ford Motorcraft filters are entirely appropriate. Ford knows more about this engine than I do and I doubt they are going to spec out a filter that is of poor quality. That statement does not say that they are the absolute Best oil filter for all environments and situations.

Here is a link that purports to know who actually manufactures Motocraft oil filters. I have no idea if it’s accurate or not. (Purolator).

Yes, I get my filters from NAPA, they are made by WIX.
That is no longer true 100% of the time. Napa has been using some other suppliers since Mann bought Wix. Some models are Wix, some aren't nowadays. I have no idea which ones, but you should be tell if you visually compare them.
