I'll just say the MPG is as advertised.I really appreciate this site. I lurked for months trying to get familiar with what people liked and didn't about the Maverick. Extremely helpful. I was leaning towards a 2025 XL with a few add ons: hitch, spray in bed liner and ford copilot 360 for the interior sideview mirror adjustment buttons.
In the end I chose a '22 Lariat that someone had added hard tri fold tonneau, tailgate lock, wheel locks, sunroof, bed lighting, 20K miles and Area 51. I spent the next few weeks second guessing my decision. I've been trying to find something I regret about it.
I've familiarized myself with the pros and cons. So far... there is nothing that stands out. I love this little truck. Mileage isn't as good as advertised, but I'm good with 35ish. The sound system is more than adequate. Love the heated seats and steering wheel. XM is cool. Android Auto works flawlessly. No lurching. Good power getting on the freeway. Adaptive cruise control is great. Lane assist was BIG surprise. That works really well.
If I had one gripe it would be no snow chains or cables. Maybe I can use socks, but I haven't seen a solution for this yet.
All in all, great fuel economy, easy to park, great stereo for me, love the sunroof, heated seats and steering wheel, etc. There is nothing I dislike about this truck.
The only things I've added are the easy open tailgate shock and a Proclip phone holder that I found used on eBay.
Sincere thanks to all contributors to this site. Insights here made my choice easier and saved me thousands.
You are just not driving in the same conditions as the "as advertised" conditions.
Me either. I ROUTINELY tank after tank get 47 or 48 MPG.
Each person has unique conditions.
Rest assured, this hybrid is getting higher MPG in your conditions than the EB would get in your conditions.
