initially, and I don't recall the manufacturer, there was a bug deflector that had the raised portion in the middle...seems it's no longer available due to (I think I heard on here) it causing "hood wobble" at speed, if that's what youd care to call it.

other then the bumps across the deflector, it looks like the smooth deflector I got at Ford accessories. It’s been on my MAV as long asI’ve had it.

Hello Mabett. I have been following the release of the upgraded marker lights and was happy to see them available and I did order a set. It seems the upgrade was developed mostly because the original had terrible water leakage issues. It's also nice that the new model has plug-n-play install too. I saw that your product description says the marker lights are "Waterproof grade: IP4". My question though is, can we expect these redesigned marker lights to to be leakproof during routine automatic car washes? Thank you.

The lowdown on Mabett's side markers.

•Don't be scared to pull off your oem vents with force
• I do wish the wires were at least 6 inches longer on each side. You have to go the shortest distance possible from side markers to the light harness.
• I had to grind off a couple of mm from the edge of the marker. My door was making contact with the marker because I have door edge guards all the way around. Others shouldn't have this issue.

Having experience now, I could install them in 20 minutes. Hoping I saved you some time sharing my experience.

And... I like em! I like the look and the added safety it brings to my Tonka.

The redesigned marker lights are leakproof and have been tested to ensure they can withstand routine automatic car washes without any issues.

Mine just came today and the first thing I did before wiring them up was a test fit on the passenger side because I have yet to find a set of these that does not bind on the passenger door when opening.

Sadly, these appear to bind worse than the other brand I have already tried two sets of unsuccessfully. Oddly, I have zero fit issues with the driver's side door but no matter what I have tried I cannot alleviate the binding/fitment issue on the passenger door side. After three sets, I think I am done with trying.

For what it's worth, this is on a 2024 Lariat FX4 Eco. Wondering if anyone else has had similar issues on this brand or others?

Love the idea of enhanced visibility and safety but not at the risk of ruining my paint.

I did have same issue (see post 51) but chalked it up to me having door guards all the way around. I used a Dremel tool with just a sandpaper attachment to grind off a couple of mm of the edge on the marker area making contact. I really thought it was only because of my guards. That sanded area is so deep within the door frame I can't see it, plus I did a good job making it look perfect. Obviously it's your call to do this. I do think during the assembling process of our trucks there is some leeway on the cap between the door and fender, I remember reading that within the forum somewhere.
