Hello,
Got the truck a few weeks ago, now 600 miles in a weird clicking noise developed when I release the brake pedal. I don't think the noise was there when I drove the truck off the lot but I can't be 100% sure. Please see attached video I took with phone on the floor and camera facing the pedal assembly. It sounds like some where needs some extra grease but I can't pinpoint the source. I listened from under the hood with somebody pressing the pedal inside and I can hear it faintly.
Any hints or things to try myself before I take it in ?

Sounds like maybe air in the break line

Are you referring to the swoosh sound or the clickiness ? Forgot to mention this is with truck turned off

OK , I did more investigations before going to the dealer, at least I can give them some hints. Now I'm confident that the noise does not come from the brake pedal assembly since the noise is not there if the car is completely off (not even brake lights come on when pedal is pushed).

The noise is from the engine bay near the brake booster / master cylinder. I can forget about an easy DIY fix.. bummer

The issue is getting progressively worse so I'm taking it in this Friday. Hoping for the best as these things can be tricky to fix. Years ago with my old GTI, a trip to the dealer to fix a rattle ended with multiple scratches around the dash with the issue not being fixed.. .

I would assume there’s a defect in the EBB causing this noise. While the electric booster does make some noise when engaging, the clicking doesn’t sound correct and almost like theres a failing actuator

Thanks, that's what I thought but my local dealer wants to contact Ford first.

I took the truck in a few hours ago. The service staff there was helpful. They first pulled up another 2025 tremor trying to reproduce the noise. They hear a similar clicking noise when the truck is in park and attributed it to the shift interlock acutating. When in drive, the other new tremor does not make the noise when brake pedal is partially released.

On my truck, the clicking noise is there in park or in drive. They have some trouble reproducing it but can hear it when I showed them. They decided to contact Ford first. Hopefully I will have some updates by Monday.

I've seen quite a few posts of 2025 owners here reporting getting their truck and this thread receives little response. So I would assume this is not a noise that everyone's truck is making.

Well, Ford responded to the dealer saying that even though my clicking noise happens during drive, it's "characteristic" and no repair is recommend at this moment. I will get a hardcopy of this response later this week when I stop by the dealership.

This morning it's low 50s with rain and the noise is getting quite a bit worse and more reproducible. I'm quite disappointed with Ford....

sounds pretty distinct in your videos, like it's in the cabin. have you tried laying down there and actuate the pedal while you try to locate it?

yea .. I've spent enough time down there that my wife's annoyed that I'm trying to "fix" a new truck.
I felt that it's not from within the cabin since I can hear the same noise louder with hood open. I'm not 100% sure as it just resonates within the footwell. But one thing I'm sure is that if the truck is completely off, the noise can't be reproduced.

FWIW , this is what I got from the dealer.

"compared vehicle did the same" what does that mean?

it would be a lot more useful for diagnosis to find a maverick on their lot that DOES NOT have the same issue. it needs to have an electric brake booster, so that means any hybrid, '25 Tremor, '25 Lariat etc

yes they compared my truck with another '25 Tremor. The other truck makes similar noise when parked (shift interlock as they claim) but otherwise quiet when in drive. My truck is clicky all the time whenever brake pedal pressed.
I'm bringing it to another dealer next week.

Same exact noise on my ‘24 eco boost fwd. the clicking comes and goes with no apparent reason. It will last about a week…loud audible clicks that I can feel through the brake pedal. More so when coming to a gradual stop than hard braking. Any luck at a different dealer? I’m in San Diego as well and may have Encinitas ford check it out next oil change.

I am having that exact issue with my 25 EB. I have 5300 miles on my truck. I'm going to take it in and start documenting.
