My 2025 eco boost also began making this same noise. I received the same story from the dealer service dept. that the sound is normal and they reproduced it on another 2025 from the lot. Funny, cause it didn't begin doing this until very recently at about 2000 miles. I'll have to keep up on these posts to see if anyone has a resolution or maybe try a different dealer. I do have to take it back in for some behind the dash rattle noises that they ordered parts for at some point soon. I might ask them to again check this but I'm sure I'll get the same answer.
If you get the same answer try another dealer. I guarantee it's not normal and since the brake booster was replaced no more clicking noise.

Copied this from another EBB noise thread:

Saw this info in a Ranger General Service Bulletin 24-7007.

2024 Ranger - Electric Brake Booster (EBB) - Brake Pedal Noises

Service Instruction
In some cases, EBBs have been incorrectly replaced due to noises that occur during normal operation of the EBB system.
...
Known EBB noises can be grouped into three categories:
• ‘Tick’/’Click’ sounds
• ‘Clunk’ sounds
• ‘Whoosh’, or ‘zip’/’unzip’ sounds

‘Tick’/’Click sounds’
Ticking sounds may be heard from the EBB during EBB initialization from standby and when shutting down. The EBB shuts down if there is no Controller Area Network (CAN) activity for a period of time and awakens when any CAN activity occurs, including when:
• The ignition is switched on
• The brake pedal is applied
• A door is opened
EBB initialization and shutdown operate valves inside the EBB that cause the noises.
These noises are normal and not a cause for EBB replacement.

When ‘tick’/’click’ noises are heard during brake pedal application, perform the following steps to identify the source of the noise and determine the action required:

1. Check if the noise is from the brake pedal or the pedal/EBB push rod joint.
Is the noise coming from the brake pedal or the pedal/EBB push rod joint?
Yes – diagnose and repair the concern. EBB replacement is not required.
No – proceed to the next step.

2. Check if the noise is coming from the EBB.
(1). Position one person in the vehicle and another person listening under the hood, near the EBB.
(2). With the doors and windows closed, ignition ON, engine OFF, transmission in Neutral (N), apply the brake pedal with moderate force.
Can both people hear the tick/click noise?
Yes – the EBB is the noise source. Proceed to the next step.
No – the EBB is not the noise source. Identify the noise source and diagnose and repair the concern.

Are 3 or more ‘tick’/’click’ noises heard with each brake pedal application/release?
Yes – replace the EBB.
No – 1 or 2 clicks is typically normal operation. Replace the EBB if the noise level is significantly louder than heard in like vehicles with similar mileage.

‘Clunk’ sounds
‘Clunk’ sounds will be heard when the brake pedal is released quickly or when the driver’s foot slips off the brake pedal. In these circumstances clunk sounds are normal and the EBB should not be replaced.

‘Whoosh’, or ‘zip’/’unzip’ sounds
‘Whoosh’ or ‘zip’/’unzip’ sounds during brake pedal operation are normal and are the result of complex mechanical interactions within the EBB. The EBB should only be replaced if the noise level is significantly louder than heard in like vehicles with similar mileage.

Mine seems to have subsided over the winter
We'll see if it comes back when it warms up or on a long trip I have coming up

Any update on this?
HAPPENS WHEN APPLYING BRAKE AND LETTING OFF. CUSTOMER THINKS IT MAY BE THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE BOOSTER, SEE RO 846666 FOR PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED/POSSIBLY RELATED PRIOR WORK TEST DROVE VERIFIED THE INTERMITTENT RATCHETING NOISE DURING STOP AND GO DRIVING, VERIFIED THE NOISE COMING FROM THE DASH AREA, UNABLE TO PINPOINT THE NOISE, CONTACTED FORD HOTLINE AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO PERFORM TSB 24-2317, AND BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM, PERFORMED BOTH REQUESTED PROCEDURES ON LINE 3, AND 4. THE NOISE IS STILL PRESENT, FORD SUGGESTED TO REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE BOOSTER AT THIS TIME. REPLACED THE EBB/ABS MODULE, PERFORMED ALL PROGRAMING AND BLEED PROCEDURES, AND TEST DROVE TO VERIFY THE NOISE IS NO LONGER PRESENT AT THIS TIME.
