I'm on the fence, everyone says they'll trap water and dirt - cause rust and ruin paint - but the truck looks so toyish without them lol. Are the OEM, Mabett, Maxzina, EGR?

Mine are Mabett. I don't agree with the previous mentioned assessment. If anything they will prevent rust etc from chipped paint.

I mean I don't have any but I agree that they would prevent rock chips but I can see how they could accumulate water and dirt on the inside sections of the wheel well since it's only plastic clips and 3m tape

The way the plastic goes inside the wheelwell there is no place to hold dirt or water. Actually it covers the metal lip around it to keep dirt or water from penetrating in my opinion.
Thanks for your comment though, made me go look again to make sure. 😆

Just installed these Mabett fender flares today and REALLY like the different look it gave my new Maverick.

Wow,
That third pic looks like scratches.... was it missing the adhesive strip there ? I can see where dust could get in from under lip but I don't see how this dirt could damage the paint. I can see how damage could occur from removing the adhesive improperly could damage paint for sure. Thanks for pics!

Eventually that "clear coat etching" will turn into bare metal if abrasive like road salt or sand are present.

Then the fun begins. Film protection is a must in most environments.
