Yeah I was wondering if you could do a silicone bead around the outer edge to mitigate any intrusion and I saw the news Maxzina ones had a full lip on the inside well- my assumption is the full lip would prevent more intrusion but could theoretically trap more if you were wading through puddles and the such.

I may just try to get vinyl or plastidip the fenders.

Have you found a baseplate to install to flat tow - I spoke with BlueOx they have the baseplates available and in stock - I also spoke with Demco they are about 1 - 2 Months away from having theirs available and finally I also spoke with RoadMaster and they could be ready within 4 - 6 weeks at this time I’m leaning more towards Demco since historically they have a cleaner and less destructive installation let me know if you have additional information I’m ready to hook this Maverick up to the RV

Yes. I have one. ETrailer had it at my house within 2 days of ordering.

Edit:

The problem I see with trying to use silicon is hiding it. Would have to be a very smooth application and applied all around the flares.

There really is no winning with them. Even the ones on my current RAM from the factory trap so much crap.

I ran into this issue on a Tacoma as well, both in the flares and hood deflector.

They are all just aesthetic, unfortunately. If you went with some of the more off road ones and used a PPF, they would still have to seal to the inner wheel well and block off access from the inside. I've never seen any do that. They mostly just wrap around or clip in and debris gets in through those spots.

I spoke to Roadmaster about etrailer advertising the baseplate for the 2025 he told me that was for the 2024 since Ford lowered the adaptive cruise radar on the 2025 they were not compatible - he was from their engineering team and may have said that as a disclaimer until they reevaluate the 2024 design I definitely would love to hear back from you if you have already installed it a few pictures would really be great and appreciate good luck

Yeah I make no implications that the flares are for anything other than looks. I just like the contrast and think the truck needs a little bit more of an aggressive look. I'd use the same wet finger approach for home improvement. I think the videos I link with ppf is pretty simple that I might try it

I'm on the fence, everyone says they'll trap water and dirt - cause rust and ruin paint - but the truck looks so toyish without them lol. Are the OEM, Mabett, Maxzina, EGR?
I'll wait until the edges around the wheel wells start to rust then use flares to cover it up

I’m definitely hoping it works this would be one of my top choices and I’d go with it - I attached my chat notes with Demco all three told me it was a challenge with Fordā€˜s refresh of the 2025 over the past few months

Toyish without fender flares? I think flares look good if they are reshaping the fender well that has been cut out to increase tire clearance. But if they are just pieces of plastic taped on to the stock fender opening to try to make it look like it is off-road worthy, it is too try-hard and doesn’t look good.

Haha I mean other than fire roads and forest trails mine isn't going to see extreme environments living in Texas. Maybe all the benzene in the air will melt the plastic trim.

@Phimosis yeah I like the looks of the truck it just has a lot of rounded corners and the profile looks like a little toyish to me - the fender flares add a little more contrast and balance out the trim in my opinion. Not trying to pretend it's an off-roader - I made that decision when I chose the Maverick over a Frontier Pro4x.
