No mine shakes even if I am holding the wheel. If I wasn't holding the steering wheel, I can't feel the vibration. If I am asleep and holding the steering wheel, there is no vibration. Right?
Only huge safety issue is a grow man knowing he can’t be responsible and stay awake while driving.Vibration and sound is an option in the menu. You can select them each on, or both, at the same time.
I added lane centering and adaptive cruise because I will sometimes make a three hour drive home after a long day getting in around 3am. I think it's a huge safety increase. I previously used lane keep and while it does an OK job it doesn't keep the vehicle centering in the lane over an extended time period.
I would suggest you don’t drive when you’re tired next time you may wake up in a Hearse on the way to the church.Worked for 12 hours + 3 hours on the road, and as a result, I passed out for a while. When I woke up, I had no idea how long I had been driving like that. I didn't wake up to any noises—I woke up on my own. The Maverick was still holding the line on the freeway. I took a picture of what was on the screen.
Turns out the driver sleep-safety feature isn't actually implemented. You just get a screen that says, "You're asleep."Why even have this function if it doesn't emit any alerts and just quietly displays a message? There's no siren, music doesn't turn off, car doesn't stop, emergency lights don't come on - just gurgling something.. I was simply notified that I was asleep. The Lane-Keeping System saved me.
I opened up the ford and volkswagen video clips. An 11 year old video clip where Ford presents their system as a message - “take a coffee break”.
The 7 year old video is the same - just as simple a message with a cup of coffee.
I was shocked Ford doesn't have the technology to do anything but put the message on the screen?
Look at how Volkswagen solved this problem.

I hate to be the villian, but you put others in danger by being too tired to drive. It is no different than being drunk driving. No way should you rely on the vehicle to keep you safe and being a grown-up, you should know you could have died or killed someone. Be responsible and quit blaming the truck.Worked for 12 hours + 3 hours on the road, and as a result, I passed out for a while. When I woke up, I had no idea how long I had been driving like that. the way it should be: google sees you asleep, hollars loudly, "wake the frick up"!!!Wait...what? 2022 Lariat 1st edition 2.0 ecoboost and after about 45 seconds a visual alert on the dash comes in stating to put my hands back on the steering wheel and then after just a few seconds another visual plus audible alert comes on. Don't know what's happens after that
You can make something fool proof, but not damnfool proof! My point is that when a manager or advert offers you extra paid features, they present it as a system to help the driver stay awake or prevent consequences.
When I saw the title I was ready for a whole different story. This one was better but let's not have a next time.Worked for 12 hours + 3 hours on the road, and as a result, I passed out for a while. When I woke up, I had no idea how long I had been driving like that. I didn't wake up to any noises—I woke up on my own. The Maverick was still holding the line on the freeway. How does your advice relate to the topic? Where did you get the information that I was tired? For me a 12 hour day is the norm, I work like that almost every day during certain seasons. Does your post help to solve the issue I raised?I hate to be the villian, but you put others in danger by being too tired to drive. It is no different than being drunk driving. No way should you rely on the vehicle to keep you safe and being a grown-up, you should know you could have died or killed someone. Be responsible and quit blaming the truck.
Your title of this thread stated that you fell asleep at the wheel...Where did you get the information that I was tired?

I wonder how Maverick knew you wanted to sleep. Did you get the message when you had your hands on the wheel?Same thing happened to me after rotating 12hr. Shifts. I didn’t actually fall asleep but it caught me ready to doze. It gave me that screen and an audible alert.![]()
