The additional features in the 2025 really elevate the Maverick above entry level in my opinion and that’s not taking into account the AWD Hybrid drivetrain.

Sync 4 (even though itself is very dated) is a massive upgrade over the almost non-functional sync lite systems of XL and XLT and quite the improvement over Sync 3 for Lariats.

While people will either love or hate the larger screen combined with the 360 camera system that is technology that is much improved over the fuzzy (if even functional) rear camera.

For Hybrids - the additional of a larger AGM battery and the upgraded CV axles address the two largest issues with the Maverick.

Ford didn’t know a market existed for the Maverick when they brought it to production and it entered the market as the entry level affordable pick up. Due to COVID shortages, demand, dumb luck, and/or solid execution Ford has a winner on their hands.

They began raising prices during 2022 and kept it up through 2024. The 2023s and 2024s are functionally identical to the 2022s and to me that’s not attractive at all with the price increases.

The 2025s mark an inflection point or maturity point for the Maverick. The market has been set and the Maverick has the room to become a more sophisticated vehicle.

While 2025-2027 is an improvement it’s just a step forward in the vehicles maturation process.

In 2028 you can expect even more “luxuries” and the Maverick to more further away from the concept of an entry level pick up and I welcome it.
The larger AGM battery does not address the deep sleep issue, if that is what you are referring to.

Yes it does. And step two will be the BCM software fix coming shortly.

but if you don’t have a 2025 you got a 45ah lead acid battery that is contributing to your issues.

To each their own I guess, I like it, its the same screen my other car has so it may be just that I am use to it. I put the heat/cool on auto and just let it do its thing, alot of the other functions you can just push the talk button and tell it what to do so you never need to look away, plus I love the new dash and 360 camera, my 22 stickered for 37,285 and my 25 for 39,105, so to me the price increase for a new warranty was just not that big of a deal, but the price is model dependent I guess.

By 2028 you can stay home and let the Maverick do what you needed to do.

I pulled out of my 2025 hybrid AWD order as well. The suppressed trade in values on my 2023 fx4 with the open recall, the increased price, the huge downgrade in buttons/over reliance on the infotainment were all too much to justify the 7% interest rates for. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one as I've been bummed (but confident) in my decision to stick with my '23. Thanks for the company in my misery
I totally agree. Trading in my 2022 XLT for an equivalent 2025 would have cost me a whopping $15,000. I hate the restyled front end, which I *might* have gotten used to, but the elimination of the center buttons alone was a deal-breaker, as was the awful re-design of the cluster. The only "plus" for me would be the push-button start, which does not come close to off-setting the negatives mentioned.

A software update will "hopefully" correct the undercharged situation if it tells the DC-DC converter to charge at a higher rate than a trickle charger like it currently is doing. The fact that they switched to an AGM doesn't correct the underlying issue of a poorly designed charging circuit that has remained uncorrected through three model years. Seems that if this was as supposedly simple as a software update it would have already have taken place in a previous year. I honestly think Ford is keeping quiet on the major defect because of fear of further affecting sales. The 2024 camera defect recall is really going to sour a lot of purchasers who wonder why they can't take delivery of their long awaited Maverick while others who ordered a 2025 are already taking delivery. Doesn't reflect well for Ford from a public relations standpoint. Let's hope Ford meets the Quarter 1 promised recall on the deep sleep issue.

I think quite highly of Ford and I’m not worried about my 25 at all

I sold my ‘24 XL AWD and I’m passing on my ‘XL 25 hybrid AWD since I stumbled into a gladiator for $21K off so $40K for a brand new ‘23 rubicon this past August and the ‘25 hybrid would have been $30K
They are very different vehicles serving different purposes. It sounds like you are happy and satisfied, so that’s what matters. Congrats!

No one can possibly beat the 1.24% interest rate my credit union gave me with my '22 XLT Maverick!

When was younger I probably would of chuckled to see an old geezer spend an extra 9k something he didn't really need.🙂
The advantage of reaching this age is that we can buy it just because we want it, or because it's shiny, and don't have to consider whether the kids need tuition, shoes, or dinner , . .

By 2028 you can stay home and let the Maverick do what you needed to do.
By 2028, maybe Ford will catch up with GM & Stellantis, and you'll be able to sit in the back seat and let the Maverick do what you need to do. . .

[hmm, ok, looks like the Maverick isn't equipped for blue cruise, anyway.]

We're ordering a maverick for my wife and an F-150 for me. We don't really need need them both, but we want them and we can.

Although I've never sold a car that was still running, I expect to trade the F-150 in for a plugin in '28 when the next generation comes out, and probably the maverick within a year or two after that.

The advantages of geezerhood!

now, can anyone suggest a perch for my pet dinosaur; he likes to ride in the bed with his head in the wind!
