Car brand is strictly a matter of choice, like which political party you registered in to. My Dad was a Ford man but owned an Oliver tractor. All my first vehicle we Fords, but in 1979 I bought a used Mercury Monarch, and I hated that vehicle. Very poor quality, excessive road noise, pathetic fit and finish. I resold it after 4 months, looked for a new American made car, and they were all junk. Fords, GMs, Chryslers, AMCs were all junk. At that time you coul roll a marble along the hood and fender, starting at the windshield and the marble would fall into the open space before it got to the grill. I bought a new Mazada. Owned an "A" platform Olds that was a really good car, traded it for a 90 Buick Lasabre that got 29 mpg like clock work but it had a light blue interior, and my wife hated that light blue (kids were small). She swapped it for a Crown Vic. I was driving a 90 Ranger, had a 79 Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 that was good, a 75 Jeep CJ5, a Chevy ElCamino, 2 Hondas and more. I worked for the REC in Colorado and they had quit 3/4 ton Chevys because they simply fell apart, worked for another REC in Kansas that only used Fords for same reason. The REC here in OK used 3/4 ton Fords but used 1/2 ton Chevys for light service and meter readers and Chevys were really good trucks. Here they switched to Dodge Diesels for small boom trucks, 1 ton to 1 1/4 ton. I asked the Service Manager how those were working out and he said on any given day he had 3 in the garage for repair and that was due to only having 3 service bays. So....drive whatever you like...this month.

I was driving home yesterday and ended up behind an early model S10. That thing looked SO TINY. It's scary that trucks have gotten so huge that a Maverick is considered "small" when it's as big as an 80s half-ton
I came to my Mav from a GMC Sierra 2500HD, 4X4 crew cab. It did a great job w/ the 5th wheel trailer but what a major pain to jockey it around town otherwise. When I got interested in the Mavericks they seemed so tiny to me, but the other day when I came out of a store there was an older Ranger Splash parked next to me and I was very surprised to see it was no bigger than the Maverick.

🤓 Give it about five years, you’ll see the Maverick get bigger like other trucks have.

Ha ha, you may be right, but the thought doesn't bother me, I usually keep vehicles a long time.

Still have the first Ford I bought in '99. It's older than me.
Also had a '99 F150 for a few years and a 2005 Sporttrac for 15 years.
Plan on keeping my 2022 Maverick Hybrid for a while.

My first is still my favorite!

and a 2005 Sporttrac for 15 years.
Now there's something that was a little before it's time. It would have sold better now than it did back then.

I was a little concerned about the quality coming out of two Infinitis but have been happy so far. The switches and steering feel smooth, everything works except for the auto start/stop unless I charge the battery- but I don't like that feature anyway.

Not happy with the dealer experience. With my Infinitis I could always call and get an appointment fairly quickly and wait for the car unless it was something unusual. With my Ford dealer the only thing I can get done while waiting is oil change. That said the only other thing I took it in for was to have it checked for the start/stop problem. The recalls were done at my house so Ford is doing great with that.
