Ok folks, I have searched high and low through threads and posts looking for someone that has done a full upgrade on the Lariat B&O sound system. I’m interested in what t-harness they might have used to tap into the system without cutting everything up. I plan to install a dsp/amp and upgrade everything….any help would be much appreciated…..TIA

To be honest, I’ve been scouring most the threads due to my interest in subwoofers, 99% of people who upgrade and add subs are ones with non lariat systems.
People with lariats don’t really seem to change anything.
What is it you are unhappy with it about?

I am curious because my vehicle on way will be b&o

Also, I’ve seen your pics. Your truck looks awesome

Thanks Darnon….
I don’t want the center channel but I do want the rears. So since I have your ear and you definitely know what your doing, let me tell you what I plan and tell me what you think….or advise…

so I’ve already changed out the front speakers with a Polk Audio DB6505 Component set and the Polk DB 405’s in the rear pillars….so ridiculous they only put 4” in rear!
Anyway, I’m an old car audio guy and would normally install an AC LC7i LOC and go at an old time 4 channel amp/active powered sub setup. Sadly I read enough about this silly b&o system that I decided to go with a DSP with amp. Honestly I’ve never messed with a dsp so I’m definitely a bit nervous but that never stopped me from moving forward with a project…lol.
I’m going to try out this Seventour P48E dsp with a 4x50w rms amp built-in. Sounds like I can route my active powered sub through this thing and run the front and rears off the 4 channel amp. I won’t care about the center channel once I can customize the sound through this dsp for the rest of the system.
So you know, when I installed the Polk component set in the front, I only wired the tweeters to the Polk provided passive crossovers. I left the woofers tied straight to the system. My reasoning was that both the tweeters and woofers get a full range signal from this b&o system and the factory tweets had a high pass filter capacitor installed so I knew I needed to protect my Polk tweets from that full range setup….knew the woofers would be fine.
So now I guess I need to wire the woofers to the crossover or can I just leave the crossover out and tune the different speaker outputs for their perspective frequencies through the dsp at setup?
Also, according to your reply I will need to wire the rears separately to my dsp/amp because they are not coming through the b&o amp harness…is that correct?
Any advice on my install would be VERY welcomed….
I LOVE my Mav….she’s lowered and tuned and really looks bad arse..just needs better sound!!!! (Not the exhaust…lol…it sounds great with a straight pipe setup😉)

Thanks! So if you like the sound of a good aftermarket sound system you will probably find the B&O system lacking in range and power. Yes it’s a stereo system but honestly, my wife’s 2023 Bronco Sport non-B&O system rocks compared to the Maverick’s. One of the reasons is they only installed 4” speakers in the rear and they put them up high in the rear pillars. The Bronco Sport has 6.5” door speakers in the rears. With a non-b&o system in the Maverick it is easier to upgrade the whole system.

No problem brother…I appreciate any input on issues I post about in here. I am typically a “fly on the wall” on this site, just soaking up information. I ONLY post when I need too…😉

I replaced the Center Speaker(with resistor,) rear speakers, and added a Kicker Hideaway 8" under the back seat. Sounds Great!

I have the non b&o stereo, I replaced the front door speakers and dash tweeters with a component set from Hertz and the rear pillar speakers with 4-in Kickers powered off the OEM head unit. Then I installed a 10-in shallow mount kicker subwoofer under the rear passenger seat with a Alpine mono amp on the rear wall. Added some sound deadening in the doors and rear storage area. Sounds 3x better

I change the EQ to flat in forscan, and I use that harness posted previously, to tap the front and rear speakers for a signal to my amp since my alpine amp will use speaker wire for turn on and audio.

Man I really appreciate the pictures you have here. This system upgrade I’m doing has an 8” Blaupunkt under seat powered sub I’m installing in the drivers side rear underseat storage bin. It fits in the bin without modification. No need to tear up the storage bins. I’m installing my amp and power/ground distribution block in the passenger side bin. Thing is, your pictures got me thinking about resonance under the bins. So I think I’m going to pop them out, so the sound deadening thing and pop them back in. I did some deadening work when I replaced all the stock speakers. Anyway, I love a good challenge so I’m excited about installing this amp/dsp. More to come but thanks for the inspiration…
