What Are "Activex" Seats?

I notice the Lariate has Activex but the XLT lux package does not. Both are 8 way power driver's seats though. So...what is the difference?

Has anyone tried both?

BTW, finally crossed the Santa Cruz off my list...the drivers seat gave me the dreaded "electrical" feeling in both calfs. Seat comfort/fit is very important given my
herniated discs.

Active X is a superb material that looks and feels like leather . I have had that seat material in my last (2) Ford Explorers with excellent results.

ActiveX is a vegan leather made from non-animal material. It's a far cry from vinyl and holds up better than animal leather. It's also easier to clean and doesn't stain as easy as leather.

I've asked this in another thread and got varying degrees of answers, but how does it behave in regards to heat? Will you burn your legs on it if your car is baking in the summer sun, will your legs stick to it if sweaty or wet? Or does it remain cool to the touch?

Our rep brought this up in training- He said that the ActiveX can get a little sticky on a long ride compared to leather. I still went with it on mine. The benefits of what I get with the Lariat outweigh the concerns

Never seen a Pleather cow before…….. I remember back in Collage some of us fellas headed to the bar dressed in polyester suits and huge cigars pretending to be rich Nauga ranchers. When asked what a Nauga cow was we referenced that’s where Naugahyde came from….... Those were the days….

I have ActiveX in my Expedition, actually the last two Expeditions and it holds up very well. Synthetic leather basically. Wears as good as leather. My Expedition has a black interior and they do not get any warmer than leather would.

I ordered it in my Maverick........if it ever gets built and shows up!???

I have activ x on my escape. Love them and they do not get any hotter than leather.

Do you know off hand what years of explorer use it? My daughters 2018 has "leather" seats. Wondering if its the same stuff.

ActiveX is Ford’s green answer to leather, it’s made from recycled plastics.

Gee..thanks folks. My hope is the Maverick seat's configuration works with my back issues. I really want a small truck to replace my 2006 ranger yardtruck and wifey's GMC Terrain with the roofline that makes getting in a kind of torture...
