Seeking opinions on what fellow MTC members would buy? I know Rough Country ($745) is the better known brand but also have heard good things about hard roll-ups (I know they can freeze in really cold temps but I live in a pretty moderate climate). Also, will I be able to add bed rails (for kayaks, etc) with both? I’ve owned several trucks just never had a tonneau cover. Thanks

I have the rough country low profile and love it, not a single issue I would buy it again for sure.

I purchased it directly from rough country it took two days to arrive via FedEx. Me and my 11-year-old installed it in about an hour taking our time making sure everything was right and water tight as could be, reinstalled extra weather stripping on the area of the bed where the tailgate meets the bed and at the top of the tailgate as well.

Nice, looks great. Could add bed rails if you wanted to?

Rough country does have a hard roll-up unfortunately I don't think they offer it yet for the Maverick.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by bed rails do you have a photo?

Wow that's cheap for a hard roll up tonneau cover. Have you read reviews on it? Most go for north of a grand. I have the BakFlip mx4 tri fold. Very happy with it but not too sure you could put bedrails on with it.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Probably drop shipped from China. There is one I found on YouTube and it’s very basic with not a lot of details but the guy says it works well and he likes it 🤷🏻

I'm probably wrong on this. but i think the only bedrails I've ever seen on a maverick are some that were handmade by someone on here. There's not much metal under that plastic.

I've had several truck bed tonneau covers over the years, including roll-ups w/ snaps and velcro, soft cover tri-folds, hard surface tri-folds, and even one that was a one-piece that opened w/ gas struts. I can easily say that the best one I've ever had is the one on my Mav right now. It's the Ford optional hard tri-fold that was a $1180 option. It looks very similar to the Rough Country above or ones I've seen called a Back Flip. It's got a Ford blue oval on it and is very nice, works well, and looks great.

Took a look at the Ford cover, it appears to be exactly like my BakFlip with the Ford oval.

No surprise, I thought it looked the same. I'll plead guilty to being very "budget conscious" (cheap) over the years but I've learned that (usually) you get what you pay for and if I were buying another at this moment I'd purchase another one just like this. However, as they say, "YMMV"

Truxedo has a good rail and cover that are designed with each other in mind.

Elevate TS Rails + Sentry hard roll up. I think the Sentry is also compatible with the bed extender while the bakflip ones are not. (Yes, the Ford hard roll up is incompatible with the Ford bed extender)
