I just ordered a Rough Country tri-fold flip hard cover. Should be here by the end of the week. I'll get it installed and let you know what I think about it.

Well I have a rough country trifold hardcover and had no problems and it keeps out the water really well. It's probably about $300 cheaper than a backflip MX4..

My '24 was scheduled to be delivered in Jan. '24 and Real Truck had a great Black Friday deal going on for the BakFlip MX4. I worked through the contact on this site and they were great to deal with. Happy customer.

I had a bakflip on my 17 colorado and it looked good and worked well, except for blocking rear window in 3 fold mode, as others have said.

This time I didn't feel like spending almost a grand so I went with the cheap trifold type you see all over ebay. It is very thick, doesn't look sleek at all, and is clumsy to fold with awkward clamps you have to release after dropping tailgate. They are awkward to reclamp too. And finally, the front panel next to window doesn't fold, so you can only uncover the rearward two thirds.

There are some things I like though. It's not hard to remove by yourself and leave at home when you don't want it. It's very stiff and strong. Seems to seal against water well. And the best part, only 300 bucks.

Link----> Hard flip cover

It's not sleek or fabulous, but I feel no need to upgrade. You may feel different.

(Forgive the dust, haven't driven it in a while.)

I have the same one. I like mine.
In reality only two panels fold.
Truth in advertising should be
a tri-panel, bi-fold.

Did you get your installed? Right now I am definitely leaning towards the RC flip up cover.

Anyone know if they run Black Friday sales?

I just came in from putting it on. We had some other things going this weekend and no spare time.
The short answer is I like it. The only bad thing in the installation of it was the drain tubes that came with it were very thin and would crimp closed when they were bent or curved. I used some 3/8 ID gas line instead and that worked great. The thing seems well made so I'm happy with that part.
As for any sales, good luck. I looked all over and everywhere it was the same, $750.

I've got the Rough Country low profile cover. Not one complaint or issue so far, I'm pleased with how easy the install was and that the drain tubes drain right next to factory drain holes by the wheel well openings.

I like that if I have to haul something larger it's easily removed by folding the cover and removing two nuts. I don't like the covers that fold up against the rear of the cab, just my opinion. I would just assume rather remove the cover than have it folded up against the rear of the cab and lose all visibility out the rear window.

Good luck with your choice.

I see where you're coming from, but a tri-fold wallet has three panels and two hinges, and a bi-fold wallet has two panels and one hinge.

You also missed where I said Truth in advertising.
Just because they call it a trifold does not mean it is.

If we were in a courtroom and I asked you, How many panels comprise this bed cover in the picture above? Next
Referring to the same picture.
I would ask you. How many times can it be folded, before it has to be removed.
As I've said before. Just because they've been calling something such as a three section wallet,
a trifold wallet for years. Doesn't mean that it's literally correct.

Basically I would ask the same questions of the cover above.
Literally, which is a tri-panel, tri-fold bed cover?

I would say "correct" and "literal" are up for interpretation. Three panels fold together = trifold is how some might interpret it, not "how many hinges are there" or "how many times can it be folded".

So, by your definition, a bifold wallet should be called a unifold wallet, because it folds once? Maybe. There are wallets that don't fold at all. Are those no-fold wallets, or just wallets?

Luckily I have better things to spend my time thinking about.

EDIT: Oh, and the tonneau you picture above has 3 hinges with 3 large panels and one small one (literally), so what should that one be called? Huh?
