Happy new year Maverick fans. As I semi-patiently wait for my 2025 Tremor to arrive, I continually see reviews of the 2025 hybrid AWD and other hybrid models. I have yet to see a single review of the new eco-boost. I would specifically be interested in seeing how the decrease in horsepower feels to someone who already has an eco-boost. Hopefully it will be negligible/non-noticeable. So if anyone has a new eco-boost, please share your experience.!

Hi! I'm picking my 25 EB tomorrow and Ill be more than happy to take pics and let you know about the performance. The only experience I had driving the 24 EB was with the one that I test drove and was about to buy until the stop sale happened as I was sitting at the dealership.

The old butt dyno is not going to feel anything. HP isn’t what gets you moving down low and very few if any are ringing out the EB to hit the max HP curve.

Plus 80-85% of EB owners are already driving a 225-230hp version of the EB because they fill with 87, and these are the same folks who will tell you the extra power from filling with 91/93 is unnoticeable and a waste of money.

TL;DR - You can’t tell a difference.

OK, then-I hope that rings true, and we'll see what the old butt dyno says:). Since down here in Mex, I'm basically only using 91+, my current EB certainly feels very peppy, and hopefully, we will continue with that happy butt feeling. Cheers

it’s less than a 5% reduction in peak HP. If you aren’t ringing out your EB you won’t feel it. I promise!

After starting to use 91 Octane E-Free and flushing out the system with about 3 tankfuls of the stuff my wife drove my Maverick unbeknownst of the change and asked me what I did to the truck. She said it drives more peppier than the last time she had driven it. For me this was the ultimate test. No wishful thinking involved. Of course there are many varied opinions but wifey had no dog in the fight.

I just test drove a 25 Tremor and it has some power! It feels better than my 2022 Ecoboost.

I only filled my Tremor with 93 so I can’t compare but my Civic has a noticeable drop going from 93 to 87.

The MTC masses will say otherwise though.

Stuart, did you order your Maverick in Mexico? If so, is there differences in options, spec's or anything else from those sold in the U.S. that you've noticed?

Just curious.

I just picked up my truck, the EB has some nice pep to it!! And that was only in normal mode, seems to be a bit quicker than my 2016 Edge EB w/ 245hp.

Hi, No, this is a San Diego US-spec order. You are correct; the Fords sold down here have many different specs and several different models that are not sold in the US.

Well, yeah, seems lots of opinions. I started a thread quite a while ago about the lugging effect I was experiencing with my Maverick at times while driving around 35-50 mph and the tach showing around 1200 RPM. I compared the effect to driving a standard one gear too high. There were some that never experienced that effect and others claimed high octane was of no benefit.

Moral of the story, to each their own, your YMMV..
