After not getting a notice of scheduling and a VIN last week I called Ford this morning to see, if by chance, I at least had a VIN and could see some movement (last email I received was on June 14th when I ordered). Unfortunately all I was able find out was my order was in, but that's it.

I figured I'd also reach out to my dealer (a Sales Manager) to see if they'd be getting in a training unit, and, if so, would I be able to come down and take a look. They're cool and said if they get one in they'd let me know and then informed me of some issues that are affecting my build; namely spray-in liner and a tonneau.

I'd hoped since I had them since inception that I'd be able to get them, but I guess not. So I decided to remove the soft tonneau and the spray-in liner and I'll likely go with an altogether different cover and a locally sprayed in-liner once I take delivery. Fingers crossed this gets me picked in the next round!

Damn. I didn’t know the tonneau’s were delay items. 😦😦😦

I’ll have to change that now.

Yeah, it sucks. I'm guessing they prioritized the luxury packages and underestimated the people picking single options.

Yeah, I ordered the Lux package that comes with the spray in and got multiple assurances that it was only standalone spray in liners causing a delay.

I just messaged my sales rep and asked him to remove the tonneau from my order. I wish he were more keyed in to the information going out online.

Thanks for this, though.

I was fine with waiting, but just found out my current car is close to needing new brakes, rotors, tires, and struts. So I would really like the maverick to come before the snow starts flying to I don’t have to pour any money into my current car.

No worries. I feel the same. I know I'm not my guy's only customer, but you'd think if I'm dropping 28K (out the door) you could at least email and let me know that if I don't want to wait - any longer than I have to - I should think about dropping stuff. The sales manager was cool though, said they'd handle it on their end when it gets in if I want to roll those costs into my financing.

I haven’t even dealt with the sales manager, only the rep. He’s been doing this for years and has gotten countless positive reviews on Google and Dealer Rater, but he doesn’t check my priority number, even if I asked and just gives me short answers. $35k before fees gets me that service. 🤦🏻‍♂️

some people on here were talking about selling existing vehicle, but getting short term lease from same dealer as their Maverick ordered to hold them over until the Mav arrives. Not sure how any of that works, but might be something to look into...

I didn't know about the delays in the Tonneau's covers. Was this information from a dealer or Ford?

Wow, have some patience, they can't schedule not build all of these in a day. I am amazed at how many people change their orders to save an unknown amount of time. Gete what you want. My day one Bronco reservation is now pushed to model year '23! If I'm spending all that money, it's going to be for what I want, not the unknown speed as to when I get it.

I did that. Through Chapmans, currently have a Jeep gladiator until the Maverick arrives.

With the huge markups many are paying and with delays in parts and what not and still no good independent reviews on the Mav and SC, at this point I think I'm just going to hold off for the rest of the year. I bet by January or February stocks will be replenished, we'll have reviews in, and with so many people having spent a lot of their disposable income over the Christmas holidays we'll see reasonable deals again. Hope I'm not wrong and COVID parts delays last into 2022.
