Tonight’s livestream during the Q&A @fordvideoguy mentioned that the hybrid mix went up to 40%. he said we just talked about it but I couldn’t find any other mention of this during the stream or anywhere else. Anyone else hear this? Good news for hybrid folks?

That's great news for the Hybrid orderers. I'm sure we'll see an updated constraints list shortly if what @fordvideoguy said was true.

Us Hybrid purchasers are so desperate for anything that even a 5% bump in production is a big deal.

I have a XLT Hybrid order with Lux package, ordered MY23 last Sept when the order bank opened. I am getting to the point I am seriously considering switching to EcoBoost because I need a truck more than the 10mpg improvement.

But this news brings new hope, or do you guys think switching to EB might be a better choice in my case? I can still switch with same price?

Thanks!

Per @fordvideoguy you really need to talk to your dealer as it is totally dependent. Let's say you're at the front of the Hybrids at your dealer, and if you change you will be at the back of the line of Ecos. Depending on allocations and the number of ecos in the queue you may be worse off.

If I were in your shoes, I would keep the hybrid order and wait until later this year. At the current rate of production and the 3rd shift getting added, there is a good chance that Ecos will be available on the lot.

Thanks, I'm gonna call my dealer but I like your suggestion.

Those are some amazing news! Or is it an April Fools' Day joke from Ford? haha

Not surprised. 40% was the target for the 2022 model year. And for a 6 month period in 22 they sold 50% hybrids.

They never officially updated MY2022 production constraints to be above 40% Hybrid, right?

Either way, if the 35% -> 40% change is true, than that's big news. Hopefully Ford will go above 40% for MY2023 given how many retail orders were for the Hybrids.

At current build rate, the 5% difference amounts to about 1,300 additional hybrids. Not nothing, but given the overage is roughly 20,000...
