Do I make the switch to EB XL or wait? My wife’s car went kaput so we are down to one vehicle. I drive 25,000 miles per year for work. 70% highway 30% city. Anyone else have this dilemma? Part of me wants Hybrid or bust but this strategy might have me waiting until 2024.

odds are nothing you do now will make the maverick come any sooner. Go find a cheap beater to hold you over.

Our 2013 AWD SRX was totaled a few weeks back. So we are down a car. I have already changed (1/17/23) one of my Hybrid orders over to Eco Boost AWD in the hopes of getting scheduled sooner. Also dropped all options on both (SIB/6 D Link Connectors & stand alone hitch) to further try to expedite the orders. No luck so far but still have my fingers crossed. Best of Luck to you all!

Per @fordvideoguy you really need to talk to your dealer as it is totally dependent. Let's say you're at the front of the Hybrids at your dealer, and if you change you will be at the back of the line of Ecos. Depending on allocations and the number of ecos in the queue you may be worse off.

If I were in your shoes, I would keep the hybrid order and wait until later this year. At the current rate of production and the 3rd shift getting added, there is a good chance that Ecos will be available on the lot.

For anyone interested in this little tidbit...I messaged my dealer to have the hitch removed from my build just now. She responded and said that as she went in to remove it from my order, she could not because they are locked out for scheduling. Does that mean that orders are being scheduled as we speak still? Or does it just disable order changes for the day. Who knows, but that was interesting to hear.

After I remove my hitch from the order, I have no more constrained options so hopefully I get scheduled in the next wave of scheduling.

I ordered my XL hybrid in Sept. with no addons and got it 2/25/23. Good luck.
