My Maverick escaped a tornado!

The other day I was on my way to pick up dinner. Noticed a crazy think in the sky that now I know was the roof of a building but normalcy bias me just thought it was odd so I went to take a video.

This is what happened next. Truck was kind of lifted up and teetered back and fourth at one point but it stayed planted mostly. I tried to out run the thing but the neighborhood I turned into had trees blocking every exit. I drove every possible way back and forth until it ended up passing. Then drove through some front yards to get back to the main road. Truck is probably not totaled. Front bumper will need replaced for sure. Some hail dents on hood and roof and a whole bunch of tiny knicks and scratches.
Truck died once while trying to back up down a blocked street but it started right back. Unsure of what would have caused that. It’s been ok to drive since.

Glad you made it out OK. The truck can always be fixed (eventually). Since you're from MI, I assume that was the Frenchtown Twp tornado.

Glad your ok. Close call! Any idea of the rating on that one?. We get a few little ones down here. But now it's hurricane season. Come November I still want you king of the Mav/Windstorm videos.

Scary stuff. I used to live in OKC and watching them form overhead was by far the scariest weather I have ever been in. I've lived all over the US and Europe. Tornado's scare me more than some of the stuff I did overseas in the military. I was there for the May 3rd, 1999 Moore F5 and many more. I will never go back to tornado alley.

I rarely get scared, but that might’a done it!!! Glad you’re ok too.

We had something similar near a place I used to live. The tornado blew everrrrrrrthing away, houses, cars, everything!! Well almost everything. There was a traveling circus set up in the area. Gone were the train cars, the tents, elephants, all the rides, etc…… But ONE lone thing was left standing. You know the game that you try to knock down three small metal milk bottles with a ball? ONE metal bottle was right there in the place where it was originally set up!!
