I did look into this a couple weeks ago and believe they ARE made in Michigan at a UAW Plant. Not sure if that facility is on strike right now or not though. Also true for EB/8-speed transmission too, but not same plant.
That was my concern when the strike started, not that the Maverick assembly plant in Mexico was UAW (it's not), but that key components like engines and transmissions were.
