Lobo at The Dragon.

Took the annual trip with the boys to the Dragon this past week. Great trip as always. No one crashed and no tickets. First time road tripping the Mav with the bike in the back and it did just fine. Its only a 400lb load so it really shouldn't make a difference.

While I was there it rained for the first time in 10 years of going, so I took the opportunity to drive up to Deals Gap and run the truck up and down the Dragon. This thing is surprisingly capable. The tires could be better, but they're not terrible by any means. The AWD really does rotate the truck nicely. It would be fun to run this on a track to explore the limits, vs staying in the safe zone on public roads with narrow margins. Just solidified my liking of this truck a little more.

And damn does it look good in pics!

great looking xsr and lobo ! I was lucky enough to drive tail of the dragon a couple years back with my wife in a toyota camry rental car lol. It was still super fun ! being from colorado it was cool to be in that area and check off that bucket list road ! We didn't make it to cherohala skyway...but i've heard that is also an amazing road.

Lobo really looks like it's in it's element on that tight road !

If you are ever in colorado i can take you on some great roads that we have here.

We stay on the Cherohala while were there. It is truly an amazing road. Better than the dragon in many respects. We visit Colorado from time to time. We've made the fun drive up 550 a few times. talk a bout a breathtaking drive.

Probably a great road East of the Mississippi...

I've got a road out west that is literally a slalom course with trees instead of cones... for 10 miles.

My arms literally hurt after driving it one direction one time. A brisk spirited pace will get you through it in 22 minutes of your steering wheel constantly spinning.

211 curves per my count using google earth. Half of them are 180 degree curves that immediately switch back the other direction.

Also the only road that has ever made me dizzy/nauseous.

Lots of great roads like that in colorado but something about that area of the country down south. Smokey mountains are amazing for sure !

I've run the TOD 5 or 6 times, each time on a different bike (lost count). I did it at night in late December in rain with snowbanks on the shoulders once (don't ask!).
The Dragon is a 'bucket list' technical run to check off but the Cherohala Skyway is far more enjoyable to run at speed IMHO.

Nice I go down there for the CivicX Wake the Dragon event. My buddy has an FL5 Type R.

Such a fun time and the Type R is tailor made for it.

Moonshiners run had me on skates a few times as he was trying to keep up with some locals but he’s a wheelman and it was such a great time.

Cherohala is so great just for the vastness of it up there.

Skyway is better. Long sweepers. Carry some decent speed. Fairly fresh pavement. Car kids have messed it up for everyone though, Slammed Fest seems to have left a stain on the area. State supposedly gave grant funding for extra law enforcement. Ive never seen so many people pulled over. 5 over was good for a ticket this trip. Thankfully we stayed clear of the law this year.

Oddly enough one of the guys on our trip goes up there for the same event I believe. He has a Type R making north of 600hp. I prefer bikes over cars there. But I can see the fun in it.

CivicX raises money and donates to local fire and rescue. That goes a long way.
